Also it's pretty easy to get close to the main stage. If you get there about 20 minutes before the national you should be within the first half of the front section or at least that worked for us on the black sabbath day for soundgarden. For the other stages make sure you're there a decent amount of time before acts are on as the stages are small so people queue up before hand

Thanks to the above posters for National Neil Young Day on Saturday.

I'm so pleased that ZMG will go on a musically progressive journey from the national to King Neil.

Seriously hoping the libertine w*nkers stay away.

Tbf, I've never met a Neil fan who's a w*nker, whereas the libertines on the other hand...

I've got two Neil Young tickets for tomorrow that I'm giving away fi anyone's interested? I can't go due to my sister being unwell and my folks being away so having to go back home to look after her.

They were just the £2.50 tickets so I'm not asking anything for them - I have the PDF files to hand so will email them straight away if you're interested, just send me a PM :)

So I thought the national were good and neil young & crazy horse were bloody great, had a great spot in the crowd near the left of stage speaker stack, which seemed like one of the only places people were dancing and hugs and smiles amongst us strangers after. Particularly loved electric after the goldrush in the set.

No problem with bar or toilet queues at all. I guess they could improve the sound a bit though.

Just posted this in The National thread but for completeness:

The National did a shorter set than I'd have liked but they still absolutely killed it. Weird seeing them in the blazing sunshine and I sweated buckets jumping around in it, but it was just awesome to see them again. Got right down the front with ease too :)

Neil Young was bloody brilliant too, despite me not really knowing any of the songs, so definitely worth the ticket price. Although I'm pretty sure he finished earlier than scheduled?

As others have said, it was impossible to get into the small venues so didn't really see anyone else, which was a shame. Expensive, too, but booze, food and toilet queues were better than expected.

Absolutely lovely crowd and atmosphere too, which must have been the Neil Young factor. Hippies, older people and just lovely really.
