Has no one seen (or chose not to see) that The Enemy have been added to the rumours page.

Just saying that is there but they seemed pretty likely to me to begin with anyway

Someone posted in the Glastonbury forum that they were playing.

Where would they play these days? They seem much smaller than they were even a few years ago let alone their peak.

Portishead headlining Benicassim. Probably our third headliner.

Imagine the animosity amongst the emo and pop punk fanatics if Portishead were headlining, who? That's all you would see

Personally it would be one of the best headliners in years, but it won't happen

And the LADS and LASSES won't? I think a lot of the R&L demographic would go "who?"

Also about blink 182 about Tom quitting is only a rumour at the moment really, only one website (kroq.com) has claimed they have info on him leaving as Kerrang and Rocksound sound as if it is a bit uncertain. There hasn't been any officially said anything about it. They claim to have an official statement that was released this morning but I can't find anything about it, but this is what it said

Matt Skiba of the Alkaline Trio will join Blink-182 in replacement of Tom DeLonge at the 8th annual Musink Music and Tattoo Festival. “We were all set to play this festival and record a new album and Tom kept putting it off without reason. A week before we were scheduled to go in to the studio we got an email from his manager explaining that he didn’t want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinetly, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavors.” Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus plan to honor all Blink-182 commitments including the Musink Festival and are excited to have singer/guitarist Matt Skiba join them for this project. “No hard feelings, but the show must go on for our fans.” Additionally, Skiba will continue to make new music and tour with the Alkaline Trio.

Make of that what you will but I wouldn't take it for a fact just yet (but it could be true)

Sounds [to me] like they're fulfilling the shows they committed to play and then that'll probably be it.

I will do (unless I'm just jkin well then I'll just keep using). From now on I will use...ermmmm...Indie Rock kids?

But you like Arcade Fire don't you?

That will probably be it actually, it sounds like it is true but I'm still questioning the source

And yes but you can also group me with the "emo and pop-punk fantics" too. Can I use "The younger people that attend R&L and primarily like acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Courteeners and Jake Bugg (and maybe a few others outside of that group) and probably don't know of the existence of a band called Portishead and may go "who?" if they were announced to play the festival" instead?

    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
    • If we are guessing then I think it's   Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls   Weezer   The All-American Rejects
    • Everyone who was there has said how amazing it was so makes the excitement grow even more.  The XX and actually Kneecap were both very good too.     Roll on 3 weeks time
    • Fallow year merch not for me... I'm not interested in celebrating this occasion - in fact I think it's stupid 🙂    Covid wiped out 2020 and 2021 so we should have another year or two before the fallow, in my opinion.  Probably a bit late to change their minds now though!
