Does anyone know how Jake Buggs set went last year? Is he likely to be bumped up again in a few years time!

I was forced to see him last year because we were in a good place at the main stage and wanted to stay there for the Arctic monkeys and I that opinion was shared by a lot of people I spoke to around me. However he wasn't actually as bad as we thought he would be

Me and my friend turned up as lightning bolt was being played, we were both high as a kite and we thought the crowd was tiny and inactive.

Jake even turned to his drummer at one point and gave him a "wtf" look. It was awful

Chvrches and Bombay delivered two of the best sets of the weekend on the NME while he was playing and I can imagine a lot of their potential audiences would have just kept their spot at the main stage. I think there were a lot of fans who wanted to see both (All of my friend group at least) and I hope FR are able to avoid a similar clash this year. However I can see a Vaccines/Peace clash or something like that happening.

Are you sure about that? Because where I was stood is seemed pretty lively, take Broken as an example.

Yeah I was desperate to see bombay but most of my friends weren't massively into them and we thought it would just be better to keep our spot because we were right at the front. But I managed to see them at Earls Court in December so it worked out fine

Fucking hell you're right. And the video, too, makes that obvious.

I need a lie down.

Think I'm just still perplexed he named the song 'Why'd You (why did you) Only Call Me When You're (you are) High?' as opposed to 'Why D'you (why do you) Only Call Me When You're (you are) High?'.

Weirdo tbh.

You noticed that despite being high as a kite? Sounds like bollocks to me.

Yeah the first time I saw him was in the FR tent after Don Broco, in 2012 I think. He was pretty good, although someone farting in a bucket would've sounded good following the shower of shit that was on before.

Was that the same year Alt-J played FR? I thought for some reason they were on before he was that year?

    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
