Saw Leonard Cohen in Manchester 2 weeks ago, fucking unbelievable isn't he? Plays for over 3 hours, sings like nobody else can, skips around the stage at 78 years of age, gives name credit to every single person on the road with him, makes it seems like something magical has occurred in the fucking soulless pit of the "Phones4U Arena".

In regards to Biffy Clyro, i personally see them as Other stage headliners imo, well at least thats what Glastonbury Organisers SHOULD be striving to see them! They're a great band, and they have a HUGE back catalogue (but people can usually only name two albums), and are brilliant Live, but i just don't think they're headline material just yet, Reading and Leeds, yes, Glastonbury no, it's essential they play in the dark too, because in the light is just a no.

Kasabian, on the other hand, is just a safe booking, whilst they're hugely unpopular on these boards, they are immensely popular, it does scream hugely underwhelming if they headline 2014, on the back of no new album (or is there? I don't know), and if they do, well they need to say no to the other festivals, that's for sure, make it a Glasto exclusive.

Fleetwood Mac is just a yes, they're a huge huge band, and what better opportunity for them to headline? Sunday night closers? I'd love to think so.

Elbow - i don't get it? They have a fantastic front man, who keeps the crowd entertained, but they scream dull Mumford-esque to me, and to headline Glastonbury? well yeah, i'd be disappointed!

Led Zep - hahaha, did i ever need to say anything about this?

ACDC - If the atmosphere of River Plate could even be close to being matched it'd be one of Glastonbury's finer moments, just so happens that you won't find 75,000 people at ACDC, yet alone Jumping in sync and singing along too!

Have i missed anyone?

Hello, just popped in to see what was going on!

2014 wish list for me, otherwise i'm not too bothered.

Laura marling - headline Acoustic

Earth Wind and fire or Shalama - Headline West Holts

Radiohead- Headline Pyramid ( ok i know but i've not seen them headline @ G before)

Sigur Ros - Headline Other stage

Pixies - Headline other stage ( bit pissed that Kim Deal won't be there though )

Bjork - ( greatest hits only ), Headline Other

I don't see Elbow as headers, maybe originally but I'd not think of them as anymore than sub now. If it was Kasabian and FM, I can only see the final one being GaGa or similar, which one plays what night.

But on that, subs for me would be Elbow, FATM/Noel and Tinie Tempah. Noel probably less chance at the minute as nothing about a new album is confirmed or even talked about for next year, that said I'm not sure it is for Flo either? Tinie has a new album out in Nov.

Example I'll say 3rd on Pyramid, only really a new song or two so far, not a new album, only a hits album that was released last month.

I reckon Sigur Ros, Pixies and a dance act for Other Stage, which could be a few people. This year maybe but I think Calvin is too mainstream and big for that slot, maybe Jaxx.

Kasabian

Elbow

Example

Pixies

Lady GaGa

Tinie Tempah

Sigur Ros

Fleetwood Mac

FATM

Jaxx or whoever the dance act may be

    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
