A couple of weeks ago, when the Chic rumour appeared on here, I announced to all of my friends with tickets that it would have to be something very special indeed to make me be anywhere else when they're headlining West Holts.

Now I have that problem with the clash with Portishead. This is made even tougher by the fact that my Wife's absolute favourite band of all time is Portishead and she will not be anywhere else when they headline. I am so torn between the two and just don't know what to do! Can't believe that we've known the lineup for less than 24 hours and already I'm stressing about a clash.

I assume that it will be a clash for the entire set of both and the walk between Other and West Holts will be long enough to even prevent me catching the last 15 minutes of either bands set? Anyone got any suggestions? Maybe I'll just toss a coin!!!

Saw the Nile Rogers / Chic gig at Camp Besti last year. If its anything like that, (more of a Nile Rogers gloat show) you are in for a cracking gig. You'd be (or maybe not) surprised at what they play. Expect a bit of Bowie, Duran Duran, Madonna and Sister Sledge amongst others.

very disappointed these aren't closing festival for me, loved Kool and Gang last time round and would have fit in nicely. I couldn't not watch Arctics personally. Need to find something else to watch on Sunday though as Sunday isn't a great day for me. that said I need to secure a ticket first

its going to be the highlight of my festival! i have seen them at parklife in manc and also at the Warehouse Project and they are amazing live.

if you havent seen them before just.... be there.

Its hard to say how busy it will be because they're headlining, so theres lots for them to clash with. Kool & the Gang was comfortable last time round so i think it'll be about the same.

If you'd rather watch artic monkeys than this you must be mental. 4 unexciting, boring whiteboys who were good about 7 years ago vs one of the greatest pop and disco songwriters ever, performed by a fantastically talented backing band and vocalists. your choice.

Such a shame that they aren't clashing (not) with the Mumfords. I'll go and see Chic, but I would have liked to have seen the AMs, Sunday night however looks like a black hole at the moment....

I know it's early days etc etc, but I am struggling for Sunday night at the moment myself. I will not be at Mumfords and will be seeing The XX elsewhere this summer, so it'll be seeking something new, or new to me at least. Thrilled that Chic are playing, if they were playing Sunday night that would be even better as once I have seen them I cannot imagine anything beyond The Stones even coming close.

Finished watching the NSJ gig. Think it's got to be Chic over Portishead, but doubtless I'll change my mind 100 times between now and then, and then see how I feel on the night.

Mind numbing clash this. Probably the worst ever.

ah man, this is a fucking nightmare, Chic or Portishead, Portishead or Chic

Saw Chic last year ad it was proper amazing. Brilliant. Love Portishead, album was dead important to me when it came out and I still play it regularly, but I reckon, a bunch of friends by my side, a bottle of rum in my hand, it's got to be Chic, really.
