I think this is all starting to make sense for Daft Punk now.... Coachella hasn't announced, Rockness hasn't announced anyone and Glastonbury don't seem to us have very many headliners apart from Arctic Monkeys as we presume. I really hope it's not Rockness they play but because that will put the 6 years of rumours down and they will then have to start them again next year.

I'm not calling you or anything but time after time people have suggested them and you and another on these boards have said defo no to them and laughed at people's continuous thoughts of them.

This isn't your fault but it's not going to look good towards you should they end up playing

i don't know. it was a stupid thing to think, but at one point we all thought we had the headliners nailed on as Arctics / Stones / Mac, and everybody was saying 'not both Stones and Mac - one or the other' so i kind of put it together in my head that if Stones pulled out Mac would be there

If I say "I'm not drinking a cup of tea", that does not mean that I'm never going to drink tea again.

Rob da Bank claims he didn't say they won't tour though. "@RobdaBank: Aaarrrgghh will people stop saying I said daft punk won't tour! I didnt! Of course they bloody well will!!!" http:///VbxDg1 Or has something been said since that I don't know about?

"We got told months ago that Daft Punk were definitely not touring next year"

http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/bestival/2013/interview-robdabank.shtml

Rob, just as I did, was saying how the situation sat at the time he said it, and which he had no reason to disbelieve.

It does not make us wrong if things change from how they were at that moment.

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
