Plan B is probably big enough to sub... but i'd like to think that if he is playing it'd be third again. Chase and Status are subbing at Reading/Leeds so i think it's safe to say that if they're playing that's where they'll be at Glastonbury (unless, of course, they're a Other headliner)

I have never taken any notice of where people play at other festivals in relation to Glastonbury

Quite a few acts have played lower down, than at other festivals in the same year.

Biffy were third down on Friday 2011,but headlined Sonisphere that same year.

C&S would be a not too bad Other headliner providing they had a few special guests.

Isn't Plan B guaranteed a pyramid slot this year?

I'm very worried about chase and status, great act... but they are a big act now! they are gonna take up a big slot! Could well be a sub slot knocking a contender out.

No need to worry, much like Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhall, they're never ever ever getting back together, and I'll go the full Justiceforcedave and bet a bollock quiche on that.

Putting aside my hatred for the individuals that make up Kasabian, I see them as more of a sub band than a headliner. In size they're a headliner, but in ability, they've been summed up perfectly a couple of posts back as "meat and two veg". Indie rock tunes with singalong choruses, they're able to play their songs live perfectly adequately and have a frontman with that fucking asshole persona that passes for charisma in the society we live in, but is anything about their show anything other than just fine? Take Oasis or Arctics, remove what makes those bands stand out and you have Kasabian.

I still just find it so incredible we are being faced with a possible lineup reveal this coming week, and we only know one headliner, a yes or no headliner, and anyone's game.

If it's true mumfords are subbing the stones we could be in for a real shock when the lineup come!

Well, they have adapted their sound more than Kasabian, their lyrics stare down from a lofty pedestal at what Kasabian call "lyrics", their singer does more than shout stuff like he was at a football match and they're far better critically received.

What different things are Kasabian trying out? Cross-stitch?

Arctic Monkeys

Dizzee Rascal

Noel Gallagher

Paul Weller

Foals

The Stones

Plan B

Example

Johnny Marr

The XX

Mumford & Sons

C&S

Vampire Weekend

The Smashing Pumpkins (all I can think)

I've gone for two youngish acts The Stones day, usually you wouldn't get that but it's a double for Pyramid movement. You could have VW on Sat but then you still end up with C&S and Example.

Can't really define Weller on a different day as they are all guitar bands, but I think Arctics will separate your young from old crowd. I've also done this as I can see Damon popping up (when doesn't he?) and playing with Noel and Weller like they did at TCT. Coxon being there is another story.

Noel is most likely not playing anymore.

I'm more leant towards

Arctic Monkeys

Dizzie Rascal

Kenny Rogers

Rita Ora

Paul Weller/New Order

Rolling Stones

Mumford & sons

The Vaccines

Chase & Status

Example

Paul Mccartney

Plan B

Vampire Weekend

The XX

Personally thought NGHFB was a weird one when they were rumoured considering they aren't playing anywhere else. Don't think they will play myself.

Agree that Kenny Rodgers will be Sunday.

Still think M&S will either sub or headline Saturday.

Can't see Plan B subbing myself

Is everyone forgetting that plan b played 3rd on the main stage in 2011, it would be a boring booking to have home back so soon just moving up one space.

Plus I'm not sure he's got much bigger since then, Strickland banks was hugely popular but ill manors has alienated most of his fans of SB.

I have nothing against the guy, I would just like someone else to sub.

    • Yep, honestly this seems like the most likely option right now.
    • Agree. Also there was a lot more crossing over between stages. I know they need to put the cure, the xx and Gorillaz on the main stages but if they could have put your Blood Orange, Big Thief, Baxter Dury on Cupra and Occident with Jade and Pinkpantheress on the main stages, it would have been a massive improvement.
    • 100% THIS! I haven't quite been able to put my finger on it, but I think you've just nailed why I didn't enjoy this year as much as usual. In last years edition, the likes of Slowdive or Big Thief would have had evening slots at Cupra or Occident, instead of being shoved on to the main stages during the day. Apart from the very biggest acts (ie The Cure, the pop headliners), most performances at Mordor just lack that special "wow, I'm so lucky to be here" feeling that I remember from the Jesus Lizard and Anhoni sets that you've mentioned.  Sidenote: I wonder if there's a decent chunk of ticket holders that gravitate towards Mordor simply because it's the biggest stage, without really caring who's playing at that time, thus the increased (and incredibly noticeable) yapping.
    • Some horrible talkers around me as well for that one. Plus the mobile beer taps pressing through almost all the way to the front, which really should be illegal.
