Been hyped for the Big G today, working from home, had Festivals Britannia and Glastonbury After Hours documentaries on in the background, the forecast for the weekend is sunny and we're 69 days away. Gonna start randomly posting the odd pic of mine on here. Here's a panoramic one of Sampha on the Park from the top of the ribbon tower in 2017...

Took this after I climbed to the hill on weds morning in 2017. What a scorcher that day was!

So hot, temperature reached the 30s in and around the food courts. Fire engine out hosing people down near West Holts. Great to run into a fellow Picnicer on these boards, howrya! :D

Tricketts Bar, with the most orderly bar queues on site. For a speedy beverage, always queue from the left hand side (ie away from the sign!)

upvote for climbing the hill :) think we found a patch of shade behind one of the bushes in the pyramid field and didn't move very much for several hours :)

What a scorcher it was (I'm sure I'm somewhere down there dying of heat exhaustion!)

May be the hottest day I've experienced there, people just clutching at any bit of shade they could get

Looks consistent with this aerial pic from 2002:

Love this thread!

Anyone have any other aerial shots like this, where you can see distinctive outlines of areas? Looking at this, next to the map is a great way to spend 30 mins, procrastinating at work.

I've been posting a weekly photo on my Instagram page every Wednesday and this was this week's. I really enjoyed LCD Soundsystem in 2016 surrounded by around a dozen or so people who'd met via Twitter some years before and soon became close friends. I only get the opportunity to see most of them once a year and dancing in the mud together while "All My Friends" blared out was the perfect and most poignant way to see out the festival and say goodbye for another twelve months.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
