  2. Pleased to see Australia have formalised their plans to open up international travel to vaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents, on a state by state basis, when we reach 80% fully vaccinated. I’ll be looking to book my flights for June over Christmas/NY after travel has opened up again. Feeling quite confident about it all now.

  5. It looks to be the title of his next album, much like how he signed off with ‘as you were’ for ages before it was revealed as the title of his first album. What does it mean? Nobody knows what it means, but it’s provocative.

  6. not bad at all - Well so far I have been to 32 although each time I am asked face to face I struggle as its not easy to work out due to the gap years + if we go by https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/history/ the total would be 35 and not 36 - there was a year in the 70's where people showed up but GFL { right or wrong } do not count that. I know I was not aware of it in 1970 or 1971 and would not have had a clue about 1979 if it was not for a festival band booker who booked a folk band in the Half Moon in Putney that I was connected to - Pilton was not even showing on a AA Car Atlas ' but we were giving a rough map on a beer mat. 1979 was the first ' 3 day event ' weekend ticket was £5 - I kid you not all the people who went with me in 1979 just dropped out in the 80's - most after 1985 { A very wet and muddy year } - turning point for me was in 1988 when I was able to join the WBC so the last actual ticket I have is 1987 { I kept all the tickets but cant find all the wrist bands }

  10. Campaign starts now to get Simz headlining WH on the Friday. Don’t fancy Billie and don’t feel comfortable watching QOTSA after recent revelations. Simz - Macca - Kendrick would be the trio.

  15. I have to say, it was my 14th EOTR and I probably discovered more new (to me) stuff than at any other festival - it was also one of my favourite festivals ever.

  16. Honestly those headliners do pretty much nothing for me, will probably see Macca but not overly excited. Same goes for the supposed other stage headliners. If anyone else is feeling the same then flip it into a positive as I’m doing, it’ll give me a hell of a lot more time to explore the site in the evening/night when it isn’t too busy!

  17. I've never done the El Pointo Treble and I was up for it in 2020. As it stands it depends who's up against Bill, who I like but is a long way from a guaranteed good time and is a step down from Taylor regardless of how many nights she's sold out the O2.

  18. I remember watching the band play the John Peel stage at some point (I don't think it was 2004, but it could have been) and Greg saying one day they would play the Pyramid. Sad that dream never came true for him.

  21. You'd think they'd do a wholesale shift of the dad rock acts. Just imagine Kiwanuka > Ross > Aerosmith > NGHFB > Macca I'm shopping for chairs and picnic blankets at the very thought...

  24. I'm actually relieved that the headliners don't really do it for me. Saw all three headliners in 2007 and 2013, that's what I love about the festival, it caters for all tastes, some years it's your bag, other years it's not. I haven't seen a Pyramid headliner for the last two festivals and had amazing times. So much to see and do! McCartney was amazing in 2004, so I will be back at the Pyramid for a headliner. Looking forward to it!

  27. Ok now I’ve come around a little to no Swift. Billie - getting her at her peak of her career so far. Kendrick Lamar - On a year where he is playing the SUPER BOWL alongside a long overdue follow-up to DAMN. Paul McCartney - Fantastic to get him back and will go down a treat. It’s an unreal trio of headliners which… I highly doubt any other festival on earth could secure. Good stuff! Sad I won’t be crying to all too well in a pyramid field next summer but there is always 23!

  30. Yeah almost certainly, but I don't think any of those parties would refuse an olive branch from a Labour leader. Particularly one who's more palatable to centrist LDs than Corbyn ever was. The indy ref will happen regardless, if Labour want Scotland to stay in the UK they need to meet it head-on and make a positive case for the union, a campaign distinct from the Tories. If they continue to bury their heads in the sand and treat modern voters with comptempt they'll remain out of power on both sides of the border for the foreseeable future.

  31. ive changed my address with Glastonbury registration but it wont let me change the see tickets address because its linked to fb ... I cant work out a workaround at the moment ... even unlinking it doesn't work ... I dont think this matters too much though

  32. Very sad. 44 years old, leaving a wife and two young children. A talent for music and art who fought a five year battle bravely to the end. Rest in peace, Greg.

  39. Not really good news but we don’t have an animal attack on celebrity thread. Shakira was attacked in Barcelona by a pair of wild boars who escaped with her handbag and mobile phone. Good news was she was unhurt.

  41. Billie isn’t my cup of tea & frankly I don’t think she’s meant to be my cup of tea - but I’d rather have her headline than keep rolling out the same old Coldplay/Radiohead/Muse/ Cure etc, because if you keep rolling them out, you’ll keep getting the same attendees & the festival eventually stagnates. it’s the young headliners like Billie that keep the festival fresh & opens it to a new wave of young audiences. Even if her demographic may not be there in numbers, at least it puts the idea of attending Glastonbury in the future somewhere on her demographic’s radar.

  44. Emily uses her personal social media accounts to follow the people she wants to see updates from and/or finds personally interesting, and not as some secret way of giving clues about who will or won't be booked at the next festival? Just a theory.

  46. Wife was saying something about how they are refunding full amount up till December but not releasing the new cost till new year sometime... Which means that if as a family you can't afford to pay for the new cost and then cancel you will only get half deposit back which mean people will lose money.. You work it out Not issue for us Nutters but in these time people might choose / not be able to go.. Think full cost should be made public BEFORE cut off date Thoughts
