Gorillaz & Tame Impala Co-headline would be decent.

Sadly, I can’t attend RW next year, due to other commitments.

However, this would probably make me rearrange those commitments.

Add The Cure and I’m in.

Gorillaz have always been bang average. A Tame impala show is something else. A good something

Harsh. I've only seen Gorillaz once, which was at Lollapalooza Paris in 2018 and I thought they were superb. Conversely, only time I've seen Tame Impala, I wasn't blown away. That slot was however supporting Arctic Monkeys at Finsbury Park, where I thought the sound system was too weak, and I have recently been listening to a fair bit of Currents (10 years late? I know!).

Was there much talk of their return coming up soon? I know they tend to run in 4 year cycles but would've thought as Memento Mori was a 2023 release that they might not be about until '27.

I’ve got a source for them so I’ll ask when I can.

I get your point, but it's not like the Gorillaz machine is in full swing. We're just guessing at this stage

I do apologise, I'm normally pretty clued up about all things Gorillaz and Blur but I'm well out of the loop at this time, I had no idea that an Album is all there waiting to be released.

After the confirmation through Andre that SOAD will be touring in 2026 and Sweden is one for their big dates, along with Berlin which we already know, they are probably my most optimistic prediction currently for next year alongside Mumford & KOL

What KOL? They clearly weren’t plan A and when booked they proved once again they don’t shift too much tickets.

I don't think anyone they booked on the Saturday was going to shift too many for the overall picture unless it was a superstar, it was a pretty bad day overall. I think the fact they booked them anyway and they pulled puts scope in there to play next year, possibly just as sub. They may even have been a plan to play anywhere but got brought forward.

MCR have got to be in the conversation at this point being the Wembley dates are the weekend after the festival. I doubt they would be doing Graspop instead.

How big were they across Europe? Seem to recall they never got as big as in the UK/USA. But not sure how the reunion and it being a Black Parade show factors into that. The theatrics of the stage show they've had in the US might be a little harder to translate to festivals, especially if they get shorter set.

Would co-headline / sub be about the right spot in the Belgian market?

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
