I think people are overlooking the possibility of a random Michael Eavis headliner eg Neil Young Last year. A spingsteen, Nicks/ fleetwood, stevie wonder etc

Stevie W's definitely a possibility.  There's been rumours circling on him over the last few years.

I don't think you can permanently rule out the Boss either, though it feels like if it was going to happen (again) it would have been over the last three festivals when he was active and in Europe at the time.

For 2027, my instinct currently says Sam Fender // Foo Fighters // Harry Styles, but it doesn’t feel particularly diverse. I’d hazard a guess at Cher being the Legend, and she could do a BST, Lytham Festival etc. shows alongside it.

Agree Fontaines is on the list, but my instinct is that they may be more of a backup headliner than someone they’d go to as a first port of call in 2027.

That feels a bit like a lot of the right names in the wrong order.

No way Oasis and Radiohead are doing the same year, and Fontaines won't be 2029, if they do it.

Also never gonna get three male headliners again, especially when the pool of potential female headliners is strong.

I'm still just not convinced Oasis will be doing this ngl. Still of the impression they might stick with being a band that does their own gigs for 2027.

I'm tempted to say Harry Styles and Foos as two for '27 then a female headliner. There's where it gets tricky though. I would've guessed Olivia Dean or Raye but both being quite recent Glastonbury performers in top end spots makes me think they might not be brought back so soon.

This is where my heads at. Also tempted to say that it’ll be Harry plus Olivia Dean and an other. Think Foos might do more of their own shows but if they want to do Glasto as well I can’t see Glasto not having them. Oasis just to do Knebworth I’m thinking.

Surely if Oasis were going to do Knebworth it would be this year?

I'm still in the windows of if Oasis and Foos want it, it'll happen. Glastonbury can't say no to that and they are probably the only festival on the planet that would be able to pull it off as well.

Thinking quite far ahead here, but I wonder if one or more of Radiohead, Oasis and/or Taylor will the the ace up their sleeve for the 60th anniversary in 2030 (providing Oasis are still a band by then)

Oasis will be well wrapped up by 2030.

While that's certainly a plausible outcome, I don't think it's realistic to say it with that level of confidence.

If you're looking at it purely from the money aspect, then yes they'll have made boatloads by then and have no need whatsoever to continue. But that may not be the only consideration (and if it is - then they're not playing Glastonbury anyway).

It may simply end up being that they're enjoying playing together again and want to continue. And given that they're playing the game on easy mode at this point - guaranteed sellouts, fawning crowds, no demand (or even desire) for new material - I can well believe that they'd be having fun. Especially as a 30 show a year schedule doesn't stop either brother going off doing their own thing in between.

Ultimately - they'll still be around if they want to be. And it'd be foolish for any of us to try and predict that.

Noel made it very clear its was a last outing. It would be very optimistic to suggest after their big tour and the upcoming tour in 2027 that 3 years later they will still be going.

Also on Glastonbury, none of the dates they do will stop Glastonbury. If there is euro dates, Manchester dates, London dates, neither of which are anywhere near Glastonbury and any of which will have sold out long before Glastonbury ticket ballot and process even starts.

Both Noel and Liam have a track record of saying things that end up changing. No point reading into a comment like that.

Still being around doesn't necessarily mean that they're active throughout. They could equally take a couple years off in 2028 and 2029. As I said - at this point it's entirely down to what they want to do. If they want to be active in 2030 - they will. If they don't, they won't.

Tbf on multiple occasions, Noel said Oasis as an entity was done and I never believed the reunion would happen until it was first announced. So you know... Never say never.

This.

Only way to 100% rule someone out is if they part for the big festival in the sky or are physically unable to play.

He did yes, but he's also said since tbe reunion it's one last go around and done, they aren't here for the touring longhaul.  To go from that to 6 years worth in 3 different spells on and off would be quite a turn around. Noel wants his divorce money and he's going to get that in spades from last year and next. No you cannot while they are still around categorically rule it out but I'd say it's as close to 2028 at the max and done. If I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up.

If the murmors of Noel wanting to play Glastonbury are true though, that will be one of the final things he'll want to ticket off and be done.

At the same time, Noel undoubtedly appears to have enjoyed the run with Oasis far more than he anticipated. Could genuinely see a case where, post-2027, Oasis just trot out every three years for a handful of stadium gigs and go their own way again.

    • Boards of Canada never perform live, I doubt they'll start now. Also Strokes have a show in Barcelona next tour so also less likely.   And adding Nine Inch Noize to the mix And we should definitely get Iggy Pop back before his body completlt dismantles
    • Starmer wagging his finger with a stern warning again. The media are briefed they'll  ban social media for under 16s then he stands up and makes an empty threat on nude images. Why does he keep doing this?
    • My top 5:   1. Little Simz (her appearance with Gorillaz was also one of the highlights of their show. The absolute winner of the weekend) 2. Cure 3. Rilo Kiley 4. Gorillaz. A bit disappointing set for me, compared to last time. Felt like a bad setlist, whenever things started to heat up, they did some new calmer song 5. Florance Road. The good thing thay came out of the rain is being able to see them
    • So since Andy Copping has stepped down and this new booker has taken over, we’ve had Green Day (who Andy never managed to book) and now potentially Blink 182 (another Andy never got done) is this just coincidence or do you think Andy never actually pushed hard for these bands?
    • After three cancelations in a row  I'm not sure if we should just give up, or chear up cause we got so much closer this time
