I'll be surprised if he's booked for any major British festival anytime soon.

I doubt that's a surprise to them, but they did it anyway.  I have respect for anyone that speaks out to condemn this barbarism using their public platform, whatever the cost.  Meanwhile, Trump is hosting Netanyahu for dinner and in return Netanyahu, who is wanted by the ICC for crimes against humanity, has nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Absolute bonkers.

Anyway, 2027 headliners:  Fender, Gaga, Chappell.

I don’t have access to instagram. But is this where we’re going now? A Bobby witch hunt

He's been no-platformed by a music publication for serial misogyny. They fully support his politics, but find him lacking in other areas.

Trump is Trump lol but the good stuff he does, he does it quicker than any of the British government. The bad stuff usually involved thoughts of his own daughter lol.

"Serial misogyny" but not sexual abuse. They need to be specific, cause right now it's nothing but character assassination.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if he's indeed a prick. Note the recent TPD TV video of Pinkpop where Rob Kellas makes some sort of allegation related to Bob Vylan at Slam Dunk but which they then censor themselves in the editing room. Wonder what that was about.

The allegation at Slam Dunk was that he used the prop baseball bat on a member of another band backstage and that's why they're now banned from that particular festival. Whether you agree with their politics or not the bobs are not nice guys by any stretch.

Interesting. Can’t figure out just how this squares with inviting a young woman onto stage to do a duet with him at Shambala last year and then allowing her to continue solo as she was so good. Seems a misogynist wouldn’t have done such.

Do we believe Emily when she says 2027 is sorted and one for 2028?

Surely that's only verbal agreements. Seems mad given the timeframe + a chance of Oasis still doing the rounds

Did she say 2027 was sorted?

No I don't believe it at all. Both Emily and Michael have previous history of saying XYZ is done when it isn't fully done. It's way too early imo.

I swear there was a quote a couple years ago saying they were gonna have all three headliners female a year soon? Can anyone remember this or am I miremembering?

Fully believe she's got some form of verbal agreement / pencilled in name for 2028. Don't think she's said 2027 is sorted?

I don't think that the 2028 artist is 100% locked in beyond any doubt, and I don't think Emily meant it that way.

Contrary to popular belief, she doesn't tend to lie. Just that we all overanalyse every last word and read far more into it than was ever intended.

Indeed, it'll be a loose agreement based on the current standings. I'm 100% sure though that 2028 is not Oasis. I think it's one of Gaga, Swift or with recent information Ariana Grande.

I think that was in response to them having no female headliners a couple of years ago, she said they try to balance it but sometimes it'll be all men and there could be a year of all women. I don't think she was saying they are planning a year with 3 female headliners, just trying to justify having none that year.

I thought the in the article where she mentioned having one sorted for 2028 she also said 2027 was sorted.

Maybe not though, going off this thread 😅 my memory isn't always the greatest

The words used for 2027 were "nearly there", which is about as noncommittal and meaningless as you can get.

Sort of.  It was during her  Women In The Music Industry Q&A at the Oxford Union and it was something along the lines of 'in the next few years we will see 3 female headliners'.  But even the folk actually at the talk were split on whether she meant in total or all in the same year.

If it was the former then it's already happened

Aw I see, yeah I had in my head she meant an all female top line one year soon (which tbf I think they would do if they could) but it's very hard to pull that together. I assume she just meant we have a few female headliners lined up. She got way too much flack for the 2023 all male top line imo. Not her fault someone pulled out.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
