there are no free spots on the main stage / tent / europe stages, right? i shouldn't hope for more mid-sized names?

I think some names from Europe stage/the buzz and dropyard are missing, but I don't really expect much

It's the best stage imo, can't say I've felt over hot in there.

Same. Editors last year was pretty hot but I was right at the front. Nothing unbearable though.

Those moaning should've attended gigs at Manchester Ritz and International in the early 90s. Sweat dripping off the ceiling.

Anyone discovered a decent 'unknown' act so far this year?

Unsure how you are describing unknown. Really liking RORY and luvcat, just as well luvcat is playing 3 festivals I'm at this summer.

Maybe 'previously unknown to you' would've been better wording. Royel Otis was the big one for me last year.

This year, I'm really enjoying Carlita's recent album and The Blessed Madonna too - I was aware of the latter but didn't know their music. Trying to get into Fat Dog and mostly failing, which is annoying and they should be right up my street.

Already knew RORY, as a woman I work with is a big fan. Will take another listen to Luvcat.

Well, one of the acts I've been really enjoying and looking forward to is Elefant until I discovered earlier today that there are two bands by that name and I've been listening to the wrong one!

Luvcat and Ecca Vandal are the two main discoveries for me. I also really enjoyed Andrea Lane's set in the livestream so I'm looking forward to that as well.

I also recommend Bartees Strange from the lesser known names. I've seen him a few weeks ago at an intimate gig and he was great.

That's so dumb, especially because most of those who would be affected by a potential boycott are those who support LGBT+

Yeah I agree! I don't think her boycotting would put any pressure on the Hungarian goverment.

Also sziget was among the first ones who expressed their support towards pride and the CEO even said that if it comes to that sziget would happily accommodate the pride march at the festival.

It would make much more of a statement if Chappell, Charli et al made anti-Hungarian Government comments during their sets that were picked up by the media and used to embarrass the narrow-minded thoughts of the politicians.

Pulling out would just upset the queer cohort in Budapest even further, surely?

EDIT: Just read the article (should have done it before commenting, but it's 2025 and who does that anymore?) and now realise that they are suggesting exactly what I've proposed. Whoops.

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
