I'm going to throw The Killers out there again. Unlikely as bound to be expensive but anything seems possible with the line-up at the moment! Thursday's press conference will be 100 days until the campsites open if my maths are correct (or near as dammit anyway). They really must announce the final headliner. However, if they don't start teasing it tomorrow then I think we can probably discount it being a big name.

Could be wrong but if ND is happening then I suspect we won't hear from Leaks ahead of the announcement.

So, we must be due the announcement of the Wednesday headliner at the press conference next week. Agreed? No Doubt seems to be the 'obvious' candidate but Sziget appear to have done 'a swing and a miss' on so many acts this year that I'm actually struggling to believe they've landed ND. Leaks' knowledge that it was a band, and they would be announced 'soonish' after announcement 2 seems to tie in too but......well, I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I assume it's one of three things: - the act has a tour they have to sell out before they are announced - they don't actually have an act 100% signed up as yet - it's Blur or No Doubt and Coachella are preventing an announcement until their second weekend is finished on 21/4

Pearl Jam have a massive, loyal fan base. I suspect the majority of people attending Sziget this year, based on the current line-up, do not fall into that demographic. I've seen PJ three times in the past 15 years and the vast majority of people at their concerts are men aged between 30 and 60. I suspect many of them won't be buying tickets to see Octo Octa, Ellen Allien, Venerus and Argy.

In what way? In the way that the average attendee would know about three of their songs. At most.

There is absolutely no chance of it being Pearl Jam, that'd be like booking Dua Lipa to play Hell Fest.

The price of day tickets on the Wednesday is the same as all the other days (except Monday, which is higher). This doesn't say to me that we are getting a headliner that's particularly big tbh.

If Sziget is hoping to release a second announcement that brings them more credibility than the first, they are doing okay IMHO with who we know so far. Adding Ellie Goulding would scupper all that immediately!
