Seems like a lot of names we wished for were ruled out because of this

Bleachers and Vampire Weekend from that lot. That probably just means it's not for me though. I like Hozier for that I song lol.

Ok that is an insane price especially compared to European festivals, even expensive ones like here in England. But it does look like the organisers are spending the money rather than pocketing it which I think happens often here in the UK.

Yeah i would argue the one down fall of a festival with a lineup like that is it seems to be speaking to a very specific customer, I think whilst I like it and a couple of my friends would too, I would struggle to find a big group willing to go.

The fact it's 6 days is what draws people to it, certainly me. My 2 faves are Roskilde(warm up days) and Sziget, 2 long festivals.

Find the 3/4 day festivals, much more manic and Sziget is so much more of a chilled experience.

Don't you find it's a long time to take off work or whatever though to visit somewhere with no much space and gaps in the music? I mean I'm saying that based on me having 10 acts across 6 days to see.

I think mine goes something like from day 1 to 6.

4 acts

1 act

1 act

0 acts

1 act

3 acts

Some of the acts though are significant options.

Not at all, I love Budapest and the festival. Im doing 11 days with 1 day before in Budapest, then 8 days at the campsite and 2 days post fest in Budapest.

I wouldn't go to any other festival with the lineup this year, I wasn't going to go but its enticed again.

I've got a month off work in August. Sziget trip, then family holiday and then a festival August bank holiday somewhere. 😃

So... Riles is subheadliner? That's really weak

Day 1:  Little Simz/Papa Roach -> Charli XCX
Day 2: Nelly Furtado/Justice -> Shawn Mendes
Day 3: Michael Kiwanuka -> A$AP Rocky

Day 4: FKA Twigs -> Anyma

Day 5: Riles -> Post Malone

Day 6: Portugal. The Man -> Chappell Roan

This undercard is a joke for pop lovers like me. I mean, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday are Strong but what about the middle?

Why are you plastering every single platform with the same comment about the names being a joke…Sziget is not a pop fest. This is a great and diverse line up,even strong like you said, with POP HEADLINERS. Could it be even better? It always could, but we all know no one goes to Sziget for pop names like Tate McRae,Benson Boone or ORod.

I love pop its always been my thing and I will always show up for a pop act. But festivals have shown me so much variety in acts and genres and my tastes have expanded so much by seeing live music.

Thats why when faced with where I go to celebrate my 21st after failing at Glasto Sziget was my solution. Its such a diverse festival that I can explore with such a curated lineup of good live acts and critically acclaimed acts whilst also delivering me my number 1 and number 2 most listened to pop acts of 2024 on back to back nights, Charli XCX and Shawn Mendes.

Festivals are a place for everything and thats what makes them so amazing

Have they even actually added rock? In the last few years we at least had some really solid rock headliners for Revolut stage.

And they were packed.

I'm not seeing this. This announcement was a real disappointment to me in terms of live music.

Any suggestions for bands I have missed?

I mean I love variety, but for 6 days, 4 really pop names are not enough for me. I agree that variety is great and I also love some EDM acts, I love Postie too, but I can express my dissatisfaction (especially it is a top comment, so many agree with me), if you don't like it, then don't react to it. I accept your opinion, I understand that people like diversity, I like it too. But the problem is proportion here for me. But regarding the number of great EDM and electronic acts, maybe next year there'll be 1-2 more pop acts. If not, I'm not going next year. that's all.

and you misunderstand me. I'm not saying the names are real jokes. I feel that 1 act has only 1 hit, but that's all. The others are really interesting and I may listen to some of them. So don't misunderstand me, I'm mentioning the undercard without 1-2 relevant pop acts as a joke. My comment is not about their success, I know they have won many awards and they deserve them. Not the names are jokes, just the proportion that we get many subs, many EDM acts and you know...

Barely. The Last Dinner Party, Last Train, Ocean Alley and Aurevoir Sofia are the only 'rock' bands they added I believe.

So not at all.

It was predictable, instead of rock or punk they tend to talk about "gitar music".

Btw The Beaches is also similar.

That gap is still there.

Probably my top acts last year were Fontaines, Editors, Royal Otis, Dead Post Society. who are all a variation of rock, indie rock or just indie.just

this year there's The Beaches perhaps but all the other suggestions - Ocean Alley, Blossoms etc aren't really that singalong stuff I ljke. Which is a shame as in previous years they be had lots of acts that fit that bill.

What acts have a confirmed stage so far? We know the 6 main headliners, we know dozens of acts for the Delta district, and the EOTS are on the revolut. Anything else?

Main Stage - Kiss of Life, Nelly Furtado, Sevdaliza, FKA Twigs, Rilès

I hope not

I also hope not but we already know that Little Simz and Kiss of Life are on the main stage that day so it seems likely that Palaye Royale and Papa Roach will be on the Revolut stage before Empire of the Sun.

Not sure where Kenya Grace, Røry and Alessi Rose will go. Probably one of them opens the main stage and the other two on revolut.

Also, that day has 3 of the best known DJs in Delta District (Don Diablo, Steve Angello and Alok). Is it likely that they will be on very late at night after the main stage has finished or will they clash with the live music acts?

Same for me. Not my line up anymore. Would have loved Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Travis, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand or something like that. But I see, for others it must be a very very solid line up if you're into that stuff.
