Staying in Ancoats for the Friday night, any Mancunians suggest either getting one of the Coaches/Tram lines or just taking the hit and walking back into town via a few pubs?

Done a few gigs and festivals in Manchester before so the tram seems best way of getting there but don't think i'll have dealt with anything like after Oasis at Heaton Park

Only way you're getting a tram is from Bowker Vale. They shut Heaton Park station, bizarrely.

Buses will be running but Prestwich isn't really my area. Be easy enough to see the route numbers on Google but obviously actually getting on one will be a task.

I've done the walk for The Stone Roses and I'm bracing myself for it again. There's no way I'll be leaving early. The joys of Heaton Park

Shutting Heaton Park seems mental, but then again when I was at Outbreak Fest in June the council doing works to Picadilly station this summer just shows how mental they are

Time to get the post-glasto legs back up and running for the walk then, sure the adrenaline of their first MCR gig back will keep me going!

It's too close to the entrance to the park, with it being so backed up you wouldn't be able to get people through the gates and the road would just be full of people waiting for the tram. They can manage the crowds better at Bowker Vale in a long queue

Just seen a picture on X of the site from above, if i'm looking at it correctly, the 'no mans land' between front standing and general admission is huge! The actual front semi circle doesn't look all that big in relation to the whole site.

Do you have a link?

Apologies if already asked - have four tickets on my account for the 16th, need to transfer to friends that are going.

Transfer is still greyed out, I thought within 7 days of the event I could transfer them?

I can give them access to my ticketmaster account if need be, but a bit awkward due to different arrivals.

I'm going the same date - my tickets appeared in the app on Monday and transfer option became available. You should get them any day.

Transfers will be allowed, it will most likely be enabled this afternoon.

Hi.  I’m going on Friday 11th, and my daughter had the tickets on her Ticketmaster.  They became available to transfer on Monday night I think, so yours should be ok soon xx

Im really glad reports on the gigs are so positive. My memories of them live from 'back in the day' meant I wasn't interested in tickets. Their setlist is very hit and miss for me so don't feel I'm missing out but it's ace seeing so many people so happy.

First time i've heard anyone describe their set list as hit and miss. It's chocka full of their bangers?

I've never liked Stand By Me, Little By Little or Wonderwall. I've no doubt they'll be big singalongs but they're all snoozefests for me. Not a big fan of Roll With It either.

Can't find a ticket anywhere for less than £350. Fully expecting loads of messages saying "Best gig i've ever been to" based on the Cardiff clips and that being ramped up playing to their home crowd.

Enjoy all! Will be a seminal cultural moment.

I've booked the Roses cricket on Friday and camping in the Lakes Saturday to try to take my mind off it!

Not even an Oasis fan beyond the biggest hits, going for my partner who is, but surprised how hyped I'm getting. Very pleased for her that we got front standing. I reckon even chilling right at the back of the front bit will give us a good view!

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.

    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
