(Relative) Biggest/ Smallest Crowd Size Predictions

I've no real evidence for this, but now the full line up is out it seems to me that there is more to see on the Thursday night than previously.  Afternoon is still thin, meaning Greenpeace/Strummerville will be rammo, but from about 6pm onwards there's quite a bit to divide the crowds.  Hope I'm right.

I agree but I think there’s still the potential for every stage that has anything on to be rammo.

True. I guess it's still only 15 venues that are open.  Hey ho.

Yeah the problem is still that even if every small area had something notable on, you've still got to spread the whole crowd that would normally be at the big five stages. So practically impossible for any of the smaller stages to not be rammo.

Clearly the solution is to put Czech Republic v Turkey on the big screens at the Pyramid to keep all the 'show the football at Glastonbury' crowd happy 😂

Yeah come to think of it every headliner I've seen there has had a pretty small crowd. Wonder if the perceived distance of Woodises from other parts of the site has an impact. Have a feeling Jamie xx might buck that trend this year as think a lot of our group are doing LCD > Jamie xx and can see that being a popular move.

Are LCD at Park?  That sounds like quite a mission.  It's not just the distance but it's also having to get past the Pyramid?  In general I'm a bit confused about the 3 members of the XX and their projects - and why they don't just work together on as the XX.  Just or example I know Romy's "Strong" got Grammy nominated but that doesn't necessarily mean it's as good as it could have been.  It builds to a rather generic imo climax that you can't help but feel Jamie would have done something more creative with...

LCD are on the Pyramid Stage before Dua Lipa.

There are a lot of people who prefer Jamie xx's music to the xx...

He's meant to be an awful act to see live in recent years - cannot DJ for sh*t

Not seen him myself but just ask in the electronica/dance thread and you'll get a page of replies saying he's naff

So far I am the only person I've seen online saying they're going to Jamie XX, and I don't have my shifts yet... Might be awful lonely when he's up against the clashes he is. And it's a long way from there to SE for techno night.

Arcadia field will close soon after Coldplay finish for Prydz. Can't see people stopping off in between.

Do we reckon this will be a full live show or a DJ set?

If it’s the former I could be tempted.

It'll be live, otherwise I'm sure it would have been billed as DJ.

That was my assumption.

However, when I saw him at APE in 2021 it was a DJ set and wasn’t labelled as such, neither was his Park set in 2015.

Basically, a live set I might entertain, a DJ set I won’t! 😂

Oh! Well in that case all bets are off!

Might chance it.

I’m struggling for a Friday night headliner, was going to head to Faithless but recent set lists look, well, not very good!

Assuming I'm not working (Avalon spies please can I have Friday off this year), I'll be at Jamie. New album tracks are sounding very nice.

I reckon Charli XCX at levels is going to be super busy. Not only is she a very popular and in-demand artist, but having Dua Lipa and Jamie XX finishing their headlining sets before her set at nearby stages could make it super busy. Even though it’s a DJ set, last time she played in 2022 she headlined the JP Stage and she has only gotten bigger since then

How do you see that on CF?

who else has a high percentage?

Thanks

donation feature. Coldplay, LCD, Bloc party,  Sugabaes, the streets. always add some % for the type of people who are not total glasto nerds like us. they normally will add 5-10% to more "commercial" acts. so yes expect avril to be even busier than the 47% suggests.

What’s the CF % on Idles v Fontaines?

also do people expect King Krule to be busy? Does he have a high CF%? Trying to leg it post LCD there but curious on how many people will be at King Krule

24 fontaines vs 21 Idles

King Krule - 11%

Yeah I think SZA will be a poor crowd. I cam honestly see a lot heading for the exit doors early Sunday.

People aren’t gonna leave the festival early because of SZA - they’ll just go see somebody else or head to the night time bits early.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
