Coach Tickets 2025

I agree to an extent, but the Festival really could do better here. The lack of upfront times from most departure points (anywhere other than Bristol or London) can be a real problem - enough that it can fundamentally affect plans and cause extra expense.

For example if I were to get a coach from Birmingham - then the difference between a 7am and a 8am departure affects whether I'd need to get a hotel on the Tuesday night so potentially an extra 50+ quid. That's probably nowhere near the most extreme scenario, given people end up travelling all over the place. At this point they really should be able to sell specific times up front from all departure points.

Agree on this not everyone lives in the city centre near the departure point, and if hotels, etc are required the earlier you book the cheaper it is. People know the risk of coach tickets, it doesn't mean they can't be disappointed at the times they get. A few small changes will make people's experience better.

christ you can still be happy to have a ticket but disappointed its a later one ... I go for coach because it's an extra chance , im disappointed ive got the resale bus and the latest departure , when I got them in the main sale . im yet to see anyone hoping to get the late one so id absolutely presume everyone is wanting the earliest possible , im no different . I just wrote a longer post

I wonder if you (generic you, not directed at anyone) were 20 minutes into the coach sale and it said a coach + ticket is available from your preferred departure location....but it gets you into the festival at 17:00 Wednesday. How many people would still take the ticket?

The reason I've taken a coach ticket in the past is because of the "better to have two chances" mantra.

In that situation I would buy the tickets.  I think most would.

I tip my cap to the brave who would not.

When I had a coach ticket in 2015, 2022 and 2023 I had to get camping equipment to other people in advance as I wasn't arriving until later in the day etc.

I'm sure someone on here or elsewhere would be prepared to get your tents up for you in exchange for some ciders or something?   If someone is in a campervan they could stroll in at 11am-12noon and put them up for you (even if just outer sheet)

there's always way round things. 🙂

my friends who are staying in sticklinch have kindly agreed to bring my alcohol for me so that means i don't have to trek back out to my car for it, saves me a load of time and more pain onto my (already) damaged back/shoulder!)

I got my coach times and unfortunately they are not ideal but it doesn't matter.

I have been given a 6am coach on the Monday morning which to me is too late to stay up, but too early to be worthwhile going to bed.

Does anybody know if there's an earlier coach going back to Birmingham (maybe 2-3am?) that I can take my chance on?

(I have managed in previous years to get on an earlier bus with approval from the driver when the bus hasn't filled)

Just in case anyone else is in a similar situation, some info for those who've booked coach travel for under 13s who don't need a festival ticket...

Our group of six adults plus one 3yr old all received our coach tickets, but no mention of the little one. Double checked our confirmations - we definitely paid for a 7th coach seat.

I emailed seetickets who got back to me today: coach tickets for those who don't need a festival ticket go out via a separate email early next week.

See you at 5:30am Oxford coach crew! 4:30am on the way back - absolutely brutal. Still - we're in!! 💫

There's a 4am return to Bham on the Monday. I'm scheduled to be on it. I certainly won't.

i think some people are also just trying to say that if you are going to arrive 6pm thursday then the ticket price should be a bit less and i would agree to be honest, you have lost nearly two days, i think that is totally fine to say, and i think if at time of booking coach it said that i do think some would potentially not bother with it. a ticket is better no ticket yeah obviously we all know that. But it is ok to say that value for money for those late on a Thursday is not the same.

Thank you. I'll stay up on the Sunday and try my chances at getting on the 4am one then.

If worst comes to worst it will just be a a long 2 hour wait until 6am.

But it's not two days of the main stages so how would you price it? It's in reality missing a day that never used to be a thing and some of Thursday. At most it's a disappointment- it's not going to be missing anything that isn't available any other day (except a drone show/fireworks).

I've been there more times than all of you commenting and care not one iota.

Several of those times I've been, it's specifically because I was prepared to be flexible that made the difference between going or not - and I valued being there massively - even back in the day when folks turned up Friday afternoon.

It's inconceivable you'd pay less on Thursday, they already battle against surging costs - so the question is would you pay more to go on Wednesday?

Between the extra food and drink consumed*, I'd argue we already do.

*which yes doesn't directly go onto the festivals balance sheet, but does allow them to charge higher pitch fees to traders.

They charge higher pitch fees to traders because more folks arrive on Wednesday these days?

You sure it's not because of inflation, trying to keep ticket costs down, etc?

They charge pitch fees based on many factors, but of course expected volume would be part of that. And of course expected volume would increase if more people are on site.

I normally find you an informative and sage source, but I think this is hogwash 😜 (in terms of Wednesday specifically)

I'm not sure why. Trader info is here - https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/info/#traders and covers some of the factors.

It doesn't explicitly say that "the number of people on site and when they arrive", but that seems obvious to me - if everyone turned up Friday afternoon and left Sunday night, then it's natural that traders would take less, and inevitable that'd affect the pitch fees that the festival could charge. Especially considering a lot of traders (moreso the non-food ones) will have their busiest days on Weds/Thurs when there's less musical distractions.

If there's anyone in North Wales getting the coach, we can take beer and other stuff in our motorhome if you need so it's just the dash with the tent then come get the rest of your stuff once you're pitched.

Not quite the I'll pitch your tent offer but there you go

Was in a similar situation in the original coach sale, by the time we got in there was nothing available for Wednesday so we went for Thurs instead. Obviously not ideal, but the option was get tickets and miss a day or take a punt on the main sale and potentially miss the whole thing, we didn't want to risk it.

On the plus side, we're going from Bristol so we've known the coach time since November. Would've been a lot more stressful if we'd had to wait until now to find out the time.

As someone else said though it’s not unreasonable to say you do feel a little cheated, other festivals charge early entry days, we’re paying the same for less. I don’t get why people can’t see it’s ok to suggest you feel short changed by that

You can have any opinion you like, I'm just saying that after by my quick count 31 times I've never felt that.  I'm doing same as @Simsy and all I feel is hugely grateful.

Maybe I'd feel different if I was camping and needed to get a pitch, but think the last time I did that was the grim weather of 2007.

But they do specifically say for your ticket price you get 5 days of festival. Which is not true if they're dropping you in late on Thursday.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
