Secret Sets 2024!

There's plenty of Glastonbury shaped holes in artist's tours that could make brilliant secret sets for 2024. It would be good to know who we think has potential for secret sets across the weekend?

 

Also, could there be a 'Churnups' style addition to the final poster, where a band of headliner size hides in plain sight earlier in the day under a pseudonym?

I'm thinking some combination of Placebo/Weezer/Patti Smith/Richard Hawley who we expected on the original poster may pop up as smaller secret sets

Weezer would be a brilliant addition at any point across the weekend!

Closer to the time it is worth considering if acts have got things like tours or albums that will get a promotional boost from getting the press.  I don't think any of the above acts have got that have they?

There is usually a reason behind unannounced slots - either the act is tied into contracts with other festivals/gigs or they want to get some promotion from the press exposure to promote something.

Vampire Weekend, Killers, KOL, The Smile all come to mind and are around (appreciate both Vampire Weekend and Killers have played secret sets in recent years)

A bigger factor is usually a pre-existing relationship with the festival. Most secret sets tend to come from people with quite a lot of history with the farm.

I see him being on Other or early Pyramid rather than Avalon again. Time before Avalon he opened Other on the Saturday I think.

😂 I fell for so many of those over the years. Last year it was Britney Spears. I think Bristol post covered the story.
