You'd miss a Prodigy headline set in favour of the latest fad Disney pop star?

If id seen the Prodigy about 20 times previously (as i have) and the headlining artist was "O-Rod" who i'd never seen before and really enjoy a lot of stuff off her first two albums.....

I'd be at O-Rod

So weird that they're claiming Rodrigo won't top. Quietly astonished, given how sure we've been she's the biggest lock of the lot, that they'd even go that route.

But I still feel unsure on Wonder and Young. The former, as we say, has to have BST in the back pocket too, and the latter mentioning rebooking a tour because of "health reasons" reads to me that he is a risk of a booking in that sense.

Just to clarify... The health reasons aren't truly health reasons, more health concerns.

Neil has been particularly cautious during and since COVID, and almost all dates played since have been outdoors due to the better ventilation. Someone asked him on NYA a few years ago if he'd ever tour Europe again and he said he would, but he'd play outdoor venues. He seems particularly cautious about Europe for some reason - I guess the early headlines probably didn't help...

The recent post on NYA seemed to suggest that a promoter had booked indoor venues too, and that the tour was being rescheduled to remove those and include more outdoor venues.

It's not fully clear why Neil is so apprehensive but it would be understandable that he doesn't want to pass anything on to family who have health challenges of their own.

Edited to add - 2024 date cancellations were believed to be due to health issues with Ralph and/or Billy from Crazy Horse. This seems to be confirmed by the fact Neil has spun up another band and has decided to keep playing. A real shame, I hope the other guys are doing well.

The info may be from Discord but its been posted here. I assume they are more likely to frequent here than Discord was all my thinking.

Hmm yeah maybe but not beyond the realms of possibility that they have a guy in there. Although all of what they are reporting is a week or 2 old now so maybe they don't.

If linking or talking about a Glasto article in the sun is that egregious then just ban any links to it. People are free to discuss it and not even one link has been posted to the article it's just discussing the names mentioned.

They have and are …

Thank you very much!

It still... hmmm, it feels like a stretch of a risk if he's that concerned about it though.

Pyramid Stage is out of doors bruv

Of course. It's just that if he's so concerned about touring Europe indoors, they must be offering him quite the chunk of cheddar to even venture back outdoors over here.

Factor in his push to tour green - which likely endears Glastonbury more than many rivals to be fair - and it's just feeling like a booking that runs the risk of folding at short notice.

I'm not saying that it should stop EE from pursuing him - if he's booked and he pulls it off, lovely stuff.

I'll assume due diligence has been done though.

Private jet to avoid covid, but damages the green credentials, or normal plane and catch covid? Decisions decisions for him...

Someone a while ago did some kind of Google search that showed all The Sun Glastonbury stories over recent years, which highlighted how much they've got wrong. I can't remember who it was and I wish I'd bookmarked it.

I think they used to get more stuff correct (The Who asked an example) but have gone downhill* in the clickbait age.

*downhill in the Glastonbury stories space, obviously they couldn't get much lower in general.

Not sure yet, though there are about 4 other stages, just not a fan of Prodigy!

Fair enough. I haven't seen them post Keith's death so can't imagine any other headliner having a bigger draw for me. Certainly not any of the other stuff that's been hinted at on here so far.

Interesting. Would be great to see that again cause it is hard to remember year by year.

I seem to remember them saying Pulp secret set in 2023 which obv wasn't true.

Either way, all these names were already known, it's just somewhat interesting when it is reported cause when they reported Madonna Dua and Coldplay last year the fest came out and said that is not right.

As long as people refrain from posting things that only serve to upset other members, as in, things that could be seen as a reference to a horrendous tragedy, then of course the Sun, Mirror, Daily Sport or any other publication can be discussed. (Does the sport still exist?)

The poster is being given the benefit of the doubt this time, as they have a good track record, and there's reasonable doubt, the reference wasn't direct enough. But any more posts like the one I've hidden will lead further action, this isn't the place for that kind of thing.

    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
    • I think people on a place like this, that clearly value live music more than most, don't. I'd rather an academy than an arena every day. But I could see a few people that care about "the gram" than the actual music wanting an arena experience even if it's a mid sized band.
