2025 Headliners

Because there's a difference between them in trying to book someone and them actually being booked. 5 good sources say Neil Young on the Saturday. Stevie was way less firm than that. Also as time goes on things firm up more. Considering you've been on here for years I feel like you should have a rough understanding of how this works as it goes a similar way almost every year.

“actually being booked” = official announcement. Anything until then is rumour. I get there are more informed rumours than others, but rumours nonetheless.

Personally find it 100x more boring to have the same people constantly coming in the thread to moan about rumours and repeatedly questioning sources etc than the rumours themselves.

It's the 2025 headliners thread.

The headliners aren't confirmed yet.

Let us have some fun speculating. Christ.

Haha stop being ludicrous. Actually being booked would be when contract is signed which obviously happens in advance by varying degrees depending on the artist/ other circumstances and commitments. Sometimes people find out that info before it is announced and pass that on to people on the internet. That's how this whole thing works!

For example, if you seriously don't think O Rod is headlining when like 7 good sources say she is and she rearranged dates to be in the UK around Glasto then you've lost the plot.

You'll probs reply with ' Olivia is booked when she is announced' or some other nonsense.

It's really impressive the festival manages to book so many acts across so many stages on the same day they get the announcement out at 8am. Stunning stuff.

Exactly. This rush to be seen as the most credible source is boring af. That’s not to say there aren’t people with some inside info, but nothing’s confirmed until it’s announced and until then, why not have some fun and speculate? Otherwise it’s a dull yawnfest.

I don't think anyone cares about a 'rush to be seen as the most credible source', least of all the people actually giving out the info. Its only us on this thread who determine who to trust - i don't think they give a sh*t honestly, there is not much bragging from people who dish out info generally.

Given how many people who have had good info in the past are pointing towards this trio i think its hard to see past it personally, think each name has 3 good sources saying it. Guess we'll see what happens, but I feel pretty confident its set in stone now.

So like Chic are not booked even though they themselves think they are playing -  Im not sure i completely  follow that logic sorry  I think the good old self confirm is as good as an official announcement

That’s how this whole thing would work if it weren’t for the ‘sources’ that have - if you’re to be believed - already gotten things wrong.

You seem to display some kind of desperation to be affixed to the most accurate pre-info, and it’s weird. Why can’t you just join in the fun, speculating without foreknowledge of what will be announced?

Every year there are sources. Some are reliable, most aren’t. This year there are different names from different “in the loop” sources. I get it’s fun, but can’t you just calm down and enjoy the ride, without jumping on anyone with your judgement about anyone who might disagree?

That’s an lame argument. Of course some acts are booked months or even years ahead of the festival. It doesn’t follow that the same info is known, even if they coincidentally happen to be right, months later.

I’m not suggesting there aren’t people who might know a few things, but the way the names have changed over even the last few weeks, has to call into question the legitimacy of those sources. What’s the problem here?

Not really. Info can be accurate at a point in time.

Nobody has ever said Stevie/ Fred/ Fender are locks, they've said discussions took place which seems extremely likely. roughbloke actually always said Fender was 50/50 what with their stadium tour. The 1975 replaced Fred is another one.

what's weird is a mod on here constantly acting like it's impossible for it to leak in advance who is headlining when it happens every year. also it isn't my info and I never claimed it to be, I'm simply passing on the good stuff from elsewhere which this place is oblivious to. You have one good source here in @mufcok and instead of engaging with the info you just act high and mighty and say 'oooh nobody knows till its announced officially' when you literally have a rumours page on the website to drive traffic.

sources with a proven track record are reliable, particularly if many of them say the same thing

It literally does follow. It's being leaked!!! I genuinely can't fathom your arguments here, they're so daft. By that logic  nothing is ever known in advance and everything is just lucky guesses/

I know it's a lame argument - it's your argument.

“actually being booked” = official announcement."

So you're saying no one is booked until they're officially announced.

Definitely not an idiotic thing to say, is it.

I did used to be for a very brief period of time, but life got in the way and I couldn’t manage it. I’m happy to weather your “incredibly dumb” criticisms, because I see them for what they are.

Dumb in your opinion.

What I find 'dumb' is anyone coming on here and spending time picking apart other peoples posts to try and show things that were never written.

Just enjoy the speculation and laugh at stuff that sounds far fetched.

You have no idea who is booked, I have no idea who is booked but both of us can read sources here and elsewhere and quote it 'as fact'. I choose not to bother doing that.

Have  a nice day.

I have to agree with every word.

Again, this is total nonsense. We can have an idea of who is booked by believing people that pass this info on every year.

Same way SZA Dua and Coldplay was known last year with the latter 2 being firm and the former being a last min addition. Same way it works every year!
