2025 Headliners

I looked at the history and thought there, 'Did they not confirm the headliners for last year before they were announced?'

Then I remembered how absolutely obvious the headliners were for a while before announcement.

They absolutely were not. At least, not for the Sunday night.

The headliners were announced on 14th March 2024. We thought Stevie Wonder was headlining up until approx 2 weeks before that, and it was another few days before SZA came firmly into the picture.

That was a legends slot thing, and drove me crazy trying to compile it.

Would imagine headliners would be even worse..

was thinking about doing a 2025 headliner game ( forgotten its name ) will try and do it when I get a free few mins unless anyone fancies sending me a list of the possibles we still have

I will never understand the rush some people seem to get, for trying wind up about 20 people at most.

Just had this on Facebook. I didn’t join a group called ‘Glastonbury 2025’ so it’s some old group that’s changed its name and knocked up a fake poster!

whats the point? For 5 likes 😂

A week before it was announced and was already known. You also mentioned green day and KoL

Was SZA known about before the drop? I forget this!

People get their kicks on social media wherever they can I guess.

Long as we don't get a rerun of that weird poster with all the names on in a circle for the abandoned 2020(?) festival.

To be honest until it's announced you don't actually know anything unless the the direct information is right literally infront of you as even the msor rwliable get it wrong occasionally. It wouldn't be that unfathomable for Stevie to be back in.

Fortunately this has no chance of happening. Worst overall set of headliners they could book. Olivia also can't do Friday by all counts.  Cave had about 200 people watch him before Mumford haha

the thing is I think somebody might have their BST dates crossed. Sabrina that Friday, O Rod the following weekend in between Noah and Hugh Jackman.

The funny thing with all this is that 'The Post' is still no less reliable than anything else in terms of the acts mentioned. Someone has said about Stevie Wonder and that post basically says that if Rihanna couldn't be agreed then Stevie would be a next option along.

So yes, Stevie Wonder was one of the names I was told. HOWEVER - there was reason to doubt it, and I've still had nothing since to suggest I should be confident, I guess given someone else has come on dangling that specific carrot, though - there's no harm in me mentioning I also heard that.

If it is right, I have reason to believe it will be the Sunday. Again though, there seems to be enough doubt around the remaining two at the moment to not get overly excited/confident.

On the other name, separate to Stevie, that one I'd be more confident of getting concrete info on and pre-Christmas. It's easier to do digging on and I will, when the timing is right (there's a danger of pissing people off if I go in all guns blazing).

The story behind these posters is this; Over on the discord, they have a stage predictions thread, much like the one on here. One of the users creates a poster from his guesses, just a bit of fun and to be fair, it makes it more interesting than just a list of names. At no point does he say they are a leaked line-up.

These posters often make their way into the wider world via Reddit or one of the Facebook groups, with someone then making out it's a leak. So what has started out as a bit of fun, ends up being something people either believe, or get angry about.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
