Playing 2 years on the bounce, happen often?

As the title suggests, do bands often play 2 years in a row (Bragg, Asterix, BoT aside) ? Is it a rarity? 

From last year I'd love to see Viagra Boys and the Lathums back. For some unknown reason I think the Lathums could well be back in '24 🤘

Not sure what level of artist you're talking about, but Hollie Cook has played the last two, Kae Tempest is a regular.

Happens a lot in the lower half of the bill or with acts who's careers are accelerating.  Happens less regularly the higher you go up the bill.

I suppose I'm talking mid-tier Skip, the War on Drugs, Manics level....

Pretty rare for anyone on the main stages (Woodsies/Park/Pyramid/Other/Acoustic/West Holts) unless they've had a significant career bump and playing a bigger stage.

The View did it twice in one festival in 2007 (Pyramid Friday, Other on Sunday - the line-up really was absolutely rotten that year, The Twang headlining John Peel feels unbelievable even now)

Seems to be the case that for bigger acts on the five main stages, if you release a new album between festivals then you have a chance of being rebooked, but it’s very rare that they rebook anybody on the same album/tour unless they absolutely blow up between festivals (Amy Winehouse going from middle of the day West Holts ‘07 to subbing the Pyramid ‘08 an example I can think of).

Of the bigger acts, Van Morrison is right up there, playing 1992, 1993, and 1994 amongst his many appearances.

Supergrass played the same spot on Pyramid (3rd down) 03 & 04 - however the second year was standing in for the Libs I think

Newer acts of this level could do, but TWOD and Manics won't be back for probably 3-4 fests minimum. Manics last played about a decade ago IIRC before this year
