Has to be ! Thought Suede would be there, always time I suppose. Fontaines, Idles, the National, these shows will all be epic. Add in some Americana on the acoustic and secret sets etc, it'll be brilliant. The rest of the lineup is extremely underwhelming tbh. I'm getting older, but 2 of the 3 headliners, I couldn't name a single tune from either, SZA, hadn't actually heard of this artist until the chatter on here last week. In April we trust !!

We were just to the right hand side of the pit. Yes, Viagra -> TWoD and QOTSA, what a finish to an amazing 5 days, epic !! 🤘

Pink could definitely play lower down the Pyramid bill surely? A quick look at 2023's Rock Werchter lineup and the big hitters subbing or playing 2nd / 3rd. Hand on heart if I was asked to name or hum a Pink, Dua Lipa or Rihanna sing I couldn't, and that, personally speaking is an age thing and the fact that I'm a rock / Americana guitar band fan. Now, if Madonna was to headline, I'd be there at the front (ticket permitting!) with bells on. She was part of the fabric when I was at primary school and into my early teenage years. So many great memories of school discos and starting out in life, with Madonna soundtracking the halcyon days of our youth

Leaving Sunday or a possible Other opener for Suede on the Friday? Weezer / Smashing Pumpkins would be 2 amazing additions 🤘
-
Walk on and as cool as you like introduce Motorcycle Emptiness as their set opener, was magical

:).. This should be true, but we had a great friends 50th birthday the night before last year's main sale. I was up @ 8am on the Sunday, nerves in tatters, double and triple checking on the devices. Long story short, I got tickets and with my enhanced emotions, it was the greatest hangover I've ever had!

Any merit in the Suede talk? I honestly wouldn't care who else was on the bill if they played! 🤘 ...... And Weezer, Doves, Jungle, Pulp, Jayhawks, Avetts, Isbell, Johnny Marr, The Frank & Walters, Kiwanuka, Frank Turner....😁
-
I suppose I'm talking mid-tier Skip, the War on Drugs, Manics level....
-
As the title suggests, do bands often play 2 years in a row (Bragg, Asterix, BoT aside) ? Is it a rarity? From last year I'd love to see Viagra Boys and the Lathums back. For some unknown reason I think the Lathums could well be back in '24 🤘

Live gigs - Who you've seen were they good, bad etc.

TD, as far as I know only Bruce remains from the original lineup. Stuart Adamson is irreplaceable of course but it was a very enjoyable afternoon of their greatest hits -

Myself and the wife headed down to Forest Fest in Co Laois last weekend. Super line up. Arrived late on Friday so missed a few: Friday : Peter Hook & the Light and James Sat : the Riptide Movement, Big Country, Sister Sledge, Bell x1, Frank & Walters, The Undertones, Apollo Junction, The Primatives Sunday : Something Happens, Gabrielle, Suzanne Vega, Suede An amazing weekend in spite of the rain. So many great gigs but Suede were the standout by a mile. They were absolutely brilliant. Brett Anderson is a force of nature on stage -
10/15 mins max, fine as you can sip a can of cold beer + another upside was you smelled better for the day queueing down wind from those coming in from Lovefields, win win

What have you done to get ready for Glastonbury 24 ?

Any idea of which Sunday in Oct for the main sale Avalon? -
Yes! I got crowd surfing (at 49) during the end of Sports, the first time up since Rage Against the Machine in 1993! A very decent stranger got my mobile number and sent me video footage, needless to say my children were mortified (and secretly proud I think too) 🙂

Research Chemicals - Viagra Boys... They would prob be still doing the outro if they had their own way 🙂

Woody, you must have had some Sunday! We stayed in E15 too, down near the entrance to E14 (handy to the E14 long drops, but far enough away to not smell them) Is it just bad luck to be setup right beside the toilets? The squeaky doors as well as the smell would be awful. We covered 60 miles over the 5 days. Home fresh enough all things considered. Would definitely stay in E15 again if the opportunity arose in the future... Best 5 days of my life 🤘
