who's watching tomorrow ?

I may have posted these paragraphs in the wrong order:

Night shift so no. If I wasn't working the answer would still be no.

I used to love The Brits. Was there from the start. Always used to have some sort of happening happen. Maybe I just got old?

For me Saturday nights are about going out and supporting the local live music scene. If I'm not too hungover from having done the same thing on Friday. Sometimes Sunday as well. Or a mish-mash between all three. Bloody shift work. I sometimes have to miss absolute corkers of acts.

Never understood people 'round these parts who would rather stay in and watch Britain's Got Masked X Factor Popstars Dancing on Ice or whatever, when there are probably at least four, way more talented, live, in your face, raise the roof off of the place acts, in pubs within about thirty minutes walking distance. OK there's a spend, but can you nurse a couple of pints for a couple of hours?

Who's daft idea was it to move The Brits to Saturday anyway? It was always traditionally Wednesday wasn't it? (Used to be a live broadcast before the legendary happening of Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood iirc). Not much going on 'round 'ere on a Wednesday. That's a stay in and watch telly night. and it's February and fuckin'' freezin' out.

I'd rather be at home watching The Brits than at work though.

Blows my mind that the masked singer is a successful TV show. The standard for entertainment is very low nowadays

Not my thing but is it really that different to Stars in Their Eyes or You Bet (a show where people would guess cars by the clunk of a door when it’s closed?). Seems like fun family entertainment to me…

    • It was Brooklyn last year, and I seem to remember a Guinness tent
    • That leaker off Instagram was saying earlier this year that Nickelback are doing a tour with Broco and Wargasm, but no evidence as yet
    • Gojira are unoficially confirmed by the organisation at Hellfest since last December already.   Slayer was supposed to be this year as a Mainstage 2 headliner at the place of Volbeat for a thrash day but negotiations fell off. Very likely to be there next year.    MCR I didn't know about but it fits well with Hellfest's desire to keep one day as more punk/rock orientated.    Europe are a confirmed headliner for Sweden Rock 2027. They will not headline HF but we may seem them on the bill. I am very curious who will be the legacy bands next year at HF. There was some backlash after 2025 and a bit of a return to heavier metal on the bill in 2026 - e.g. Gatekeeper on the main stage. The only considerable legacy acts I see coming (if they are in Europe) and haven't been at HF for a while are Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Slash, FFDP (if you count them as legacy), ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I really hope they manage to pull sth big for the 20th anniversary like AC/DC.
    • Looking forward to Doja Cat letting us all know what is going on later on today. It is a good job that somebody is keeping us informed.
