Pukkelpop 2023

So I'm going to be making a flying visit over to Belgium this weekend!

My son is a massive 2manydjs fan and was gutted when Soulwax pulled out of PKP last year. He follows all their socials and entered a competition a few weeks ago on the Deewee Instagram to win a t-shirt that gives access to their tenth party. Well he won so we're driving over tomorrow morning and will be attending the party in Gent. Don't know anything about it really aside from the venue, which is somewhere in the football stadium, the theme, which is 'space' and that it's invitation only and going on all night!

A friend who's involved with PKP is also going so I'll see if I can get some info about their plans for this year (although he doesn't tend to let much slip unfortunately). Trying not to think too much about how rough I'm going to feel when I roll into work on Monday morning but will worry about that when the time comes!

I'm in Ireland and going to consider to buy a one day to see them and Moderat now @gigi21 pointed it out.

Also check Grape Festival in Slovakia, a 2-day festival (11-12 August), with a festival ticket that costs less than a PKP day ticket. Never been there, maybe it's worth it.

Viagra Boys have been announced at Cabaret Vert, in France, on August 18, have a show in Italy on August 20 and have also been announced for Lowlands (no day splits yet but it's obviously August 19).

So we can surprisingly rule them out.

Did they have to be the eleventh name of last week announcement before being removed for a change in plans?

They've also been in the Werchter/Dour rumour mill for a while + played Pkp last year. So I'd rather guess they've never been a concrete option for this edition.

Nice. Would have preferred some on another day but that's what I get for only having a day ticket so far.

Happy with 2manydjs, Altin Gun and Jessie Ware. The rest can get in the bin.

Great announcement for me! Jessie Ware, Ben Bohmer, VTSS, Luude and 2manydjs will all be on my list to see over the weekend!

Had a fantastic time at the Deewee party on Saturday. It was held in the concourse of the stadium and the brothers played two sets during the night. They had decks set up on one side and a live stage just across which hosted Asamoto, Movulango and Charlotte Adigery and Bolis Pupol. Most of those also DJ'd during the night too and we got to meet a few of them which was nice. Couldn't get too much PKP info and David and Stephen actually said they weren't sure if they were playing when we asked them 🤔😆

May have been hasty sending most of them to the bin. Will check them out. Tom Odell can definitely stay there and Knocked Loose ain't my thing.

Talking of 2manydjs, I hope its the 'As heard on Radio Soulwax pt 2' set they did in London recently. I did ask for it on twitter 🙂

Sounds great! I live 5 minutes from the stadium and didn't manage to get in, so I'm definitely slightly jealous 🙃

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
