Wishful thinking I know but The Cure would be a dream headliner for me. Throw in Siouxsie on the lineup too

Based off the size of the cure's tour they just did surely its not impossible? Would make sense an APE announcement as it wraps up too

ah my mistake then, not too sure who would be headlining it - no obvious choices about. better not be tom grennan he seems to be getting big slots recently

Tbf the festival's Twitter has had nothing on it since July, which was just after those shows took place.

Had a decent bill last year tbf for a dip into that world of music. I like Two Door Cinema Club and Nothing But Thieves plus have previously seen/liked Pale Waves so might have been persuadable had I been in another more impulsive mindset.

I actually might've suggested Foals for it but ofc they're spoken for with R&L, Yannis' recent comment that they're only gonna play that in 2023 at the big end, and the fact I think the dates are when they're in the US supporting Paramore.

They always go completely quiet, wouldn't look too much into that.

They push the 'new indie headliner' thing a lot but i think Foals would be the earliest yet (kooks were 14 years after their debut, foals would be 16 years).

Foals are a decent bit bigger than anyone they've had before too i'd say - i think we'd be more likely to see a Fontaines bump up or similar

Yeah fair enough. A few festivals have had the radio silence habit tbf so I'll take that note as one.

Tbf a part of this mentally Foals, Wolf Alice and Two Door Cinema Club being the Truck headliners when I went in 2019, so seeing them as being at a similar level in terms of headlining small festivals like this.

Wolf Alice would be a shout but I get the impression they're currently pausing things while a new album is put together.

Now they arent at Reading, id have though Queens of the stone age could be in for APE

Yeah I was thinking this. Just have to see if their tour extends to the end of August.

This is though because some of these bands might be at Green Man instead of APE. Although Wilco are playing Birmingham in early September, so that make them less likely for Green Man. Bjork is becoming less and less likely as she has not been announced anywhere else after March 2023, but a short run of 2-3 shows, including Rock en Seine in Paris, remains a small possibility. Because APE like to re-book bands, my opinion is that The Strokes who are around in August are much more likely (although not at all on my wish-list). Iggy Pop is more likely to be a Green Man given his July London show, but since he would be a sub and not a headliner, it remains a possibility. Personally, I'm mostly interested to know where Karate will be. They are around in August, so I hope they have a London show and not just Green Man.

It's so weird that they've missed the pre-Christmas window, which makes me wonder if they've got a couple more exclusives a la Stormzy or at least something they're pretty confident will sell.

A few pages ago we were speculating if one could be Florence and the Machine but where a full announcement was held up by the band having to reschedule their UK tour after Florence broke her foot last month. Maybe that could be one to keep an eye on in February, when the tour is now happening.

What are our chances of seeing a pre-Christmas announcement here? I had expected one, but it's cutting it pretty close, especially with all the other gig/festival announcements in the last fortnight which probably sweep up a lot of the Christmas stocking filler marker.

Has anyone heard any rumours about announcements dates or anything?

No more big announcements now people have spent their money on Xmas
