So Oxfam goes live tomorrow - is it just a free for all like trying to buy tickets (I've not volunteered before).

Also does anyone know the date yet for general Shelter bar volunteer applications?

Yes its a free for all first come first served approach. I believe last year though they staggered releasing the places a bit to stop the website being overwhelmed. Much the same way see tickets have started doing. So keep trying... as people fail to pay or as they release more spots the option will reappear. But will fill up completely pretty quickly.

Yeah the Oxfam one is a free for all and can go very quickly - but it’s worth keeping your eye on it throughout the day and over the next few weeks (especially after resale day) as cancelled places become live frequently

Unless Glastonbury shift their dates the cancellation will fall after the resale window.

Might only just!

Working 8 weeks back from the monday prior to glasto lands at Monday April 24th

Balance dealine is 7th of April

So resale could end up being 20th Coach and 23rd General

Squeeky!

That's fine, I've looked on the thingy and resale has always been at least 8 1/2 weeks before the fest.

Obviously it might change so that is the risk you take I guess!

Another one for the Spreadsheet, and I'm actually pretty annoyed I forgot this previously as they're reportedly one of the best bar operators to work for -

Refresh West run the bars in Arcadia and Shangri La (totally unconnected to WBC/Avalon who between them run most of the others).

Recruitment in "early 2023" - it appears that in 2022 they opened up on 21st March.

"Register an interest" and applications (when they open) via https://refreshwest.eventmaster.jobs/

So who’s trying tomoro ? Good luck to all hopefully a few shoots of green on both spreadsheets

Yep... slightly anxious but I don't know why.  I'm well aware that if I don't get in tomorrow I'm more than likely to secure a place later.  And I've already got a ticket deposit bought as a back up option too.  Hopefully that will be back in the pot for the resale crew.

I think i took a look at doing this last time and gave up after failure in the initial scrum .... like you say though loads of chances later on ....

Yep, going to be trying tomorrow and feeling nervous as ever. Nerves/belief destroyed after the man sale when not one of our group of regulars go through. Need some luck!

If you don't get on straight away don't stop refreshing. Like with SeeTickets people's payments fail. Good luck!

If u get a place do u have to pay the full amount straight away, or just a deposit ?

If it’s your first time, full amount of the festival ticket you’re applying for.  Some people are entitled to loyalty discounts but you would have been told about that if you are one of those.

Very much so - Glastonbury places go very quickly indeed on non priority day but just be ready with your log in and payment method. The site is vey intuitive this year so just whizz through it as quick as you can.

Don't forget, once you successfully log on, it's not just Glastonbury that will come up on the dropdown menu. I booked onto 9 festivals last week for the price of one deposit. You can always drop out later if you can't do them all. Don't forget Oxfam frequently does two or even three festivals the same weekend Boomtown and Boardmasters for example, Reading, Leeds and Shambala being the busiest. I highly recommend Download as every time Ive done it there have been zero night shifts (which is unusual) and most of our work involves stewarding the main arena  accessible platforms.  Good luck and keep the faith. You WILL go to the ball.
