Gutted about Korn 😞 Who reckons last headliner could be Massive Attack? I know others have mentioned a dance act to give the line-up variety.. I would love that as saw them twice this year and they're amazing!
Bright Eyes may well be my favourite ever band so I was going to give it time even if it wasn't grabbing me straight away … Perhaps I've got a bit of Stockholm syndrome with it as I played the album to death on release 😂
But I think it's their best since Cassadaga. I don't go back to 'People's Key' or 'Down In the Weeds...' all that much anymore and maybe the same thing will happen in time with 'Five Dices..' but I've been loving it this year. There are a couple of clunkers ('Hate' is pretty shocking). But 'Real Feel 105', 'El Capitan', 'Bas Jan Ader', 'Tin Soldier Boy'... brilliant!
Hmmm thats a few of you including Bright Eyes - Five Dices, All Threes
I kind of wrote it off it didnt grab me - (im a massive fan of them). maybe i need to give it another go
Been a very quiet listening year for me but I'll go with...
1) Bright Eyes - Five Dices, All Threes
2) Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood
3) Fontaines DC - Romance
4) Nick Cave + TBS - Wild God
5) Grace Cummings - Ramona
6) Nadine Shah - Filthy Underneath
7) Grandaddy - Blue Wav
😎 Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us
9) Brittany Howard - What Now
10) Kendrick Lamar - GNX
Favourite EP: Little Simz - Drop 7
Favourite Song: BADBADNOTGOOD - Take What's Given
Plenty I haven't got round to listening to yet though that are on the list so this is more of a reflection on what I've listened to most...
I feel albums of the year lists should be compiled a couple of years after the fact so you can rank based on lasting impact and what's stuck with you the most.
