M.I.A. @ Stonebridge Bar?

According to the lineup page on eFests, she's playing. Surely some mistake, I thought.

But it turns out she's doing a bunch of festival dates in June & July and has just released a new track.

M.I.A. hasn't been announced for Glastonbury yet, as far as I can see, and Stonebridge seems a bit small for her. Anyone got any intel?

That would be mental. Where did that info from the efests line up page come from?

The times i have seen her, no one has given a toss about her 'set' until at the end when she does Paper Planes and invites people onto the stage. Very predictable, no one will care about her 'new track' either, its time acts like this were told quietly but firmly in one ear to let it go.

At festivals, or at her own gigs?

I thought AIM - her most recent (fifth) album - was really good. Much more interested in hearing the tracks on that than the now 15 year old Paper Planes

Always been at festivals when a bird mate makes a fuss and gets the gang along, i wouldn't actually pay to go and see her if she was playing at Brixton Academy, for example.

I've seen her twice at Bestival and I don't think that was the case on either occasion.

I saw her at Bestival and if I’m honest I only knew Paper Planes but I too thought she was incredible! Totally exceeded expectations and blew me away!

She was good at the Big Chill till she invited everyone onstage and was then shocked when a hundreds of people turned up.  she screamed and run away without playing Paper Planes which was what everyone was waiting for lol.

I was at that, she got half way through Paper Planes, before security shit themselves and also stormed the stage, pulling the plug and violently chucking people around. Security that weekend were probably the biggest arseholes in general i have ever experienced at a festival.

She was terrible when I saw her at Exit Festival, everyone was just talking in the crowd which isn't a good sign

That seems to be every gig i go to lately no matter how good the band on stage is.

It was the first year it went to Festival Republic and they ruined the whole thing.

I'm a bit of a fan myself, I reckon she's got a decent catalogue and a fair few absolute corkers in amongst that.  I've not really heard anything from her I didn't get on with personally.

I read that there was a bit of backlash against her stating some slightly potty views about things but honestly I'm more about the music than the celebrity drama myself.
