I’m really looking forward to seeing Supergrass for the first time. Have been watching their performances from the pyramid in 2004, looks like it was a blast! Where do we reckon they’ll be on?

Supposedly opening the pyramid.

I used to love them and kind of forgot about them slightly to young for there heyday but caught them when I was at uni on the road to rouen tour was great fun from what I remember.

Sounds like the tour is In celebration of I should Coco which is a great album.

I always loved Supergrass back in "the day" and only got to see them once.  I was beyond excited that they got back together to tour and then Covid f**ked that into a cocked hat.  They are one of my only 4 absolute must sees this year.

BUT

Almost nobody out of my mates, fellow Glasto goers, wife, colleagues etc. could give a flying sh*t. Searching here, seems no one gives a f**k either.  Is it just me?

I love Supergrass, first saw them in 1994 on their first tour with the Bluetones, 3 quid on the door!

Can't wait to see them opening the pyramid in June, they never get the acclaim they deserve with some absolutely brilliant albums and iconic tunes.

Cannot wait for this, they're on my "100% seeing" list.

Saw them back in 2009 I believe in B'ham and they were fantastic. Always been a fan. I recently went through a shuffle of their back catalogue for a good hour and a half. There were stacks of tracks I'd totally forgotten about which I love, and many which I hadn't realised were Supergrass. Made me even more excited. A fantastic Pyramid opener, if the rumours are true.

One thing that has popped into my head from the 2009 gig, is how much the drummer looked like a young Macca. I need to check this. Other influences may have been at play...🤣

I've seen them twice in recent years and Gaz Coombes solo twice too. They are always fantastic live - I think they are a great Pyramid act to have, lots of universally loved songs and great energy.

Hmm I wonder if we could get a Gaz Coombes solo set somewhere too?

That tour was early 1995. We saw them too at the Astoria 2, Ash did a secret support and my mates met Jarvis at the bar while I was watching Ash. We'd seem them in Sept 1994 supporting Ride at the Albert Hall, a great band and always fantastic live.

Not a huge fan but think they are alright and moreover they are an ideal afternoon festival set imo. Subject to shifts, I will very likely go and see them. Always find it a bit odd that those early/opening sets are not on iplayer. Squeeze last year would have been popular among those not there in person, I'd imagine, and Supergrass also.

Saw them at the Pilton Party in 2019. They were tremendous. Think it was their first gig for a long time.

Ditto - they were really really good - better than I expected in truth as I was never the biggest fan but it felt like I knew every tune.

It was. I had tickets for the Boardwalk in Manchester. Couldn’t go because of a stomach bug. My mates who did go not only saw the gig but played table football with Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce from The Smiths. Still rankles TBH 😂

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
