So, it was the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill earlier this year, so would Alanis Morrisettè fit the bill? Proper 90's legend and seems to be doing the odd festival this year.

I think 90’s female popstars are a rich seam the festival need to try and mine for this slot, there are plenty of names that will keep them going for a while. Aside from the likes of Beyoncé and Madonna, there are quite a few that fit the brief of being big but couldn’t headline, and have the hits.

Brandi Carlisle, who sometimes guests with Elton.

I think this time it's for real.  He hasn't really recovered from his recent spinal surgery so touring is definitely out of the question for him.  He might still do an occasional gig, health permitting but for now he's out of action

Yeah, just seen it pop up on Twitter. Won't lie, feel bad about being flippant now.

So glad I got to see him with Sabbath in 2016.

Auto correction on spelling,  it’s Carlile I meant!

I figured that, but what I'm saying is Brandi Carlile is a 2000's artist who does stuff with Elton John, but Belinda Carlisle is the 80s into 90s popstar with big hits.

Again it'll be a miracle if any Ozzy shows go ahead

All cancelled finally. Dunno why it took them so long to officially announce, they've known for months at this point.

All the best to him.

Yeah they need to call him up  and say "can you f*ck off...now can you f*ck off a bit further..."

I heard Paul Sinha on the radio a while back talking about how Clapton should do the right thing with this song credit, seeing as her contribution is so famous due to Goodfellas, yet the credit was stolen and given to her wife beater ex boyfriend, who later went on to become a murderer.

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
