He’s lost all credibility since cutting off his mullet.

The hitman and her have just offered to do it for free so for 1 hour the pyramid will be turned into a 1980 northern nightclub called Tiffanys. Pete waterman will then be doing a model railway demonstration at the avalon inn.

if he is headlining midnight sun he is not going to play the acoustic tent

I remember last year folk were saying Robert Plant was gonna play the acoustic tent

That festival is a big deal, is it?

Ray Davies headlined Acoustic in 2009. I'd suggest they're comparable in size.

Either way, Acoustic Tent at night or sunny afternoon on the Pyramid, I'm in.

25,000 punters vs about 7,000 punters at the acoustic tent

Was anyone at that Ray Davies set? I bet it was way to rammed

Tom Jones may have done it before but that was before the slot became the behemoth it is now.

Not ideal but they could get away with it in a pinch.

I think it would be better to not have the slot at all rather than get an underwhelming booking.

They've kind of painted themselves into a corner with this slot.

Hasn't Tom Jones sacked off all the hen night tunes in favour of spoken word beat poetry and Leonard Cohen covers?

I dunno. There still seem to be a good number of options.  If one year the stars don't quite align it doesn't necessarily mean anything's gone wrong or that they've been too ambitious. I'd rather they shoot for the moon then never have bothered in the first place.

Given the Spice Girls and Tom Jones news, its finally time to give the U-Krew their time in the sun.

100k bopping, Eavis to come on and do the little rap. Maybe Dave Gilmour to play the solo.

A band Jo Whiley once claimed made her "wetter than a otters pocket".

It's not just you. For all the complaints about how GnR don't fit the festival, for me they come a hell of a lot closer than The Spice Girl

i agree, both booking make most sense at the height of their fame, every day since then they've become naff bookings, it's been a long time,  every single day since then.

    • People seem to have got obsessed about 'secret sets' at all festivals this year even when there aren't any spaces other than, in EOTR's case, the usual late Folly sets that 90%+ of the time are from artists who are already playing. And if it is someone else, I'm sure it won't be a band who played the festival last year.
    • To be fair @Superscally barely mentions the running thing. Very quiet about it 😘
    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
