Are/ Were you still all camping??

We do indeed, three of the group take their campervans now so the rest of us stick our tents in that field with them but we do the full weekend. Usually go down the arena from 1pm for the day even if acts aren’t to put taste, we’ll watch and drink to pass the time

Sounds like us bar the fact we’ve hotel’d it since 2005!

…and we’re not going this year

If you could go for 1 x 2023 day, how would you rearrange the announced acts to convince you?

For me, a main stage run down (top 4 on each stage) then I'd buy a date ticket for sure.

15-1600: Tion Wayne

16-1700: Don Broco

17-1800: Trippie Redd

18-1900: Nothing But Thieves

19-2000: Slowthai

20-2100: Loyle Carner

21-2200: Foals

22-2300: The Killers

Our group does sound similar to yours, last couple of years I’ve not been convinced we’d go. Surprisingly 2019 was the closest call, only four of us went with a few more opting for a Foos day ticket. That year’s lineup would be a dream now!

Even with this I’d be struggling to justify it if I went solely based on the lineup.

12-13:00 YMAS (guest opener)

13-14:00: The Snuts

14-15:00: Don Broco

15-16:00: Trippie Redd

16-17:00: Wet Leg

17-18:00: Slowthai

18:10-19:10: Loyle Carner (not arsed about any of the MSE subs)

19:50-21:20: Foals (none of the MSW headliners are doing it for me either)

21:30-22:50: Billie Eilish/The Killers (can’t split them)

15:00-15:35- Muna

15:45-16:20- Inhaler

16:30-17:05- Trippie Redd

17:15-18:00- Wet Leg or Declan McKenna

18:10-19:00- Becky Hill

19:10-19:55- Loyle Carner or Central Cee

20:05-21:20- Bicep

21:30-22:50- Billie Eilish

I'm not huge on any of the MSW headliners at all, if I wasn't able to bump up Bicep, I'd take Foals.

14:00-15:00 - Drinks Break
15:00-15:45 - Don Broco
15:45-16:30 - Nothing But Thieves
16:30-20:00 - Drinks Break

While no doubt a little better once the full line up is announced, all these sad concoctions are once again highlighting the loss of the two stages in how little choice now exists.

Sunday looking not half bad.

Sunday is decent and you could prob realistically cherry pick a really good day from across the weekend, I won’t be spending 300 dollars on a general admission ticket

My local festival has just announced its lineup and has me pining for Reading after all!

It doesn’t get much less inspired than this -

Looks completely fine if you want to see bands? Far better than spending 1000s of dollars flying to the UK at least

Yup it’s fine, just boring (although prob less so than Reading for me), would rather see Yungblud than 90% of that and ultimately there’s less choice at any one time than Reading

Sadly being America there’s no way any of me getting there than by car and all that entails, so I wont be attending

Lewis Capaldi is a bigger act than Sam Fender, the fact Lewis is MSW yet Sam MSE is evidence of the festivals downfall. Fender should be on the MSW at best at this stage of his career.

Lewis Capaldi is a solo male pop star that sings love songs. He should be nowhere near Reading festival.

Reading Festival is meant to be the biggest alternative music fest, it's about fucking the system.
