New thing,Castle Party added to the website

I guess it's the boat party but at the Castle (well, Bastion). Could be fun and it looks like Jungle are DJing for a couple of hours on the Friday early evening which, I've got to say, is quite tempting even though its 50 euros a pop.

"Very Instagrammable" as the kids probably don't say.

How much of a bad idea is it to go to the sziget boat party as someone who gets really seasick every time I step into a boat? I need rational voices to convince me to not do it lol

Tbf The Danube isn’t rough, I use the boats all the time & I heaved my guts up on The Great Barrier Reef!

my reservation would be the potential of feeling trapped in direct sunlight for hours on end.

For me the joy of a festival is being able to move and find something else when you have had enough & the boat kind of takes this away.

First time going to Sziget. Most likely alone. What would be accommodation recommendations? On the island or hotel/hostel in the city?

I'd suggest on the island as I'd say you've probably left it a bit late for anything decent and reasonably priced in the city. I could be wrong but I've been monitoring booking.com and there doesn't appear to be much left.

Thanks! What is like on the island? Can I rent a bed there? Not bringing my tent or stuff like that. Also I'm going for 3 days if that matters.

Hey, does anyone have information on the locker locations in the festival area and their differences?

I'm doing basic camping and wondering where in relation to the island the lockers will be

I'm assuming by the picture they added that mobile lockers are similar to those in 2019, but where are the areas listed? Same goes to the safe trucks, which are a new addition. Where are they located inside the festival? Do you get a permanent locker as you do in mobile lockers?

If someone know that would be helpful so I can decide which to order before they run out

If you look at this years limited map, the villiage is on the top right, the entrance will be on the bottom right. I have also attached a 2019 map. On the 2019 map the 'city centre' was where the numbers in the 50s were.

This might change with the city centre, but probably not.

I don't suppose anyone knows a better resale site for these do they please? I struggled to shift them on Twickets, still got 2 x Sunday and 1 x Monday that I am becoming increasingly concerned I'm going to end up just throwing the money away!

Accepted I won't get back what I paid with it not selling out, but at this point selling at a loss would be a bonus!

    • When are  the stage splits ??
    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
