  1. The Last Dinner Party is the number one must see for me at the moment. Fantastic band. I lived on the hope that they would be booked, and luckily they did!
  2. Some new names should definitely be around the corner. I keep my fingers crossed that there are some good artists this time. It should be the last names before the poster reveal sometime this spring. it's usually in april right?
  3. Nothing wrong with that. After all, music is objective. I understand that many people think it's a good lineup. I have more or less only read people who have praised WOW's lineup this year. So maybe that says more about me, than about the lineup 😅
  4. I was actually thinking of making a comeback and going to WOW for the first time in many many years. But the lineup doesn't suit me at all, unfortunately. Maybe there will be something in the future that will make me reconsider. It's a bit of a bummer that it's so weak this year when it has been very good in the past. Last summer's lineup was top class.
  5. That's my guess as well. There must be two more coming in. But it was a good and solid release today, for sure.
  6. Aah, thank you so much! It was very interesting to read that. Im already curious about how it will turn out!
  7. Where did you read this? Quite interesting! It's certainly time for an upgrade for Orange. Not that Orange is a favorite stage, but it is certainly a legendary stage.
  8. Realistically, I don't think more than maybe 2-3 of these artists will be booked by Roskilde. Of course I could be wrong. Roskilde often wants to go its own way and usually differs a bit in comparison to other festivals. For better or worse, of course.
  9. Considering everything he is accused of, they should not be relevant at all. At least not in my book. It's not really something Roskilde supports and encourages. Just the opposite. I am absolutely convinced that it is possible to get a great lineup without Arcade Fire. Unfortunately, it looks like it will be another slightly bad year in 2024, considering that most festivals in Europe have difficulty getting really good lineups, as it looks right now. There are few, apart from 1-2 festivals, who have presented a good start to their lineup for 2024.
  10. Again? Oh no. They were tragically bad when they played last time. It might have been 2017. I went to their concert with very high expectations and had only heard good things about their performances. I think they have even been named as one of the best live bands in the world? But no, it was terrible. Never again. I really hope they don't show up.
  11. Of course, I could be wrong. But I just don't see it happening. She was there in 2018 and 2022, so would she come back in 2024? Probably not. If she did, she would probably make history as the fastest repeating headline at Roskilde. I certainly wouldn't mind her coming back next year. She is fantastic and her show is a guaranteed success.
  12. 1. Sam Fender 2. Billie Eilish 3. Viagra Boys 4. Baby Queen 5. M. Byrd
  13. It's just a little walk. Here you go! https://www.google.se/maps/dir/K-híd/47.5593338,19.0499103/@47.554693,19.0429261,2044m/data=!3m2!1e3!5s0x4741d978143544b7:0xe3b4cbc56dc0dbaa!4m9!4m8!1m5!1m1!1s0x4741d97b13c63583:0x3506e29bc4958526!2m2!1d19.0482265!2d47.5524962!1m0!3e2?entry=ttu
  14. Soooo. With this speculation about these absurd (but unfortunately still reasonable due to inflation) prices. Auchan party it is!
  15. Some really tough ones. I really hate it. Thursday: Viagra Boys - Florence + the Machine. I've seen both before, but it still sucks. Both are amazing live. I really don't know how to choose between these acts. Sunday: Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes - Mumford & Sons. Here I have only seen Mumford before. But I can't skip them as it is a friend's absolute favorite band and I want to experience the concert with her as I have managed to convince her to come to Sziget, much because of Mumford. Monday: Amyl and the Sniffers - Macklemore. Here it feels a bit like choosing between a fat party and good f**king music. I've seen both before so maybe it's 50/50. My mood for the evening will simply decide. It may be that I see a little of both. Tuesday: Sleaford Mods - Billie Eilish. The one that hurts the most but also the easiest. I haven't seen either of them before but Billie is one of my absolute favorites so I simply can't do anything but see Billie. It hurts me a bit that I won't see Sleaford Mods, to be honest.
  16. Only 4 days left and it's time to bring this thread back to life! The weather forecasts look promising and in just a few days we will finally be there. I hope you are as excited as I am!
  17. No problem mate! Maybe I was a bit unclear too. Have you managed to find some acts? Share with me! I would also like to discover some new ones, but haven't had any luck yet, unfortunately haha. The only one I have that I really really want to see is Blur. They have been on my bucket list for like 15 years or so. Haha, I'm in a similar boat as you, and it's really sad. We have some people considering dropping out and skipping the festival this year. But I'll try to convince them to go anyway. We have so much fun when we're there. I just have to remind them of that. But I also understand completely why people choose to throw in the towel and go to a cheaper festival with a better lineup if they're only there for the music. It's more value for your money. I wouldn't blame anyone for making that decision. I also hope that the Roskilde people read the forums and place more value on the discussions there than the extremely negative and mocking posts people write on social media. I know I've been extremely negative in here too, but I still think we've had a good and civilized discussion in a mature way. Yes exactly! And just to give a small example, for us Swedes, Roskilde is extremely expensive because the Danish krone is so much stronger than the Swedish krona. That obviously makes it sting a little extra. To pay so much and not really get the value you want. So yes, of course we should keep our fingers crossed that it sells out so that they can come back with, hopefully, a better lineup next year haha!
  18. Yes, they are, and that's something I mentioned earlier. But the fact remains: Roskilde could have put together a much better lineup. The feeling with Roskilde, even in previous years, is that they choose not to book certain bands and artists because they're not "cool and hip enoguh". They don't want to dirty their poster with the "wrong type of bands" in some way. They just want the poster to be fresh and clean.
  19. I understand your perspective. But this will be my 9th year at Roskilde. So I would like to say that I know what I'm talking about. I have experienced Roskilde when they have had extremely good lineups, and that's exactly what you hope they will return to every year. You live on the hope that they will book good acts, every year. With that said, I still don't go to Roskilde because of a good lineup or not. I go there regardless. But I want, and hope, every year that the lineup will be as good as possible. The fact that the lineup is so weak this year cannot be avoided. It will be a year with very, very many hours in the camp instead, I don't mind. We are a group of 10-15 people who usually go every year, regardless of the lineup, and we have 2-3 people this year who are satisfied with the lineup. The rest of us think just like me, that it's really weak and a bit embarrassing for a festival of Roskilde's caliber.
  20. Yes, that's how it is. I am very aware that most festivals in Europe, with the exception of 2-3, have extremely weak lineups this year. That being said, I still think Roskilde could have done much better. A lot better. It may have failed for other reasons that I, of course, do not know about. Logistical problems, budget allocation, and so on. What do I know? I can't imagine in my wildest dreams that this lineup was their goal when they started planning the lineup for this year's festival. It must have gone very wrong on the way here. They can't seriously be satisfied with the outcome of this lineup. But due to many different reasons, they have had to compromise a lot with themselves and have been forced to book this to get anything at all. I am surprised by my reaction to all of this since I have never gone to Roskilde because of their lineup. But I am genuinely very angry about it. It will surely calm down in a couple of days. I know I'll have fun once I'm there. I always have.
  21. Honestly, I'm struggling to find words. I don't really know what to say. I didn't have high hopes for today's lineup release. But this lineup? It's a disaster. A joke. What the hell happened? How did they build this lineup? How many "no thanks" did they get from artists who are touring during the same dates as Roskilde? The feeling right now is that this might unfortunately be my last year at Roskilde, because this is just unworthy.
  22. I am very skeptical. Mumford & Sons are playing at Lollapalooza Stockholm on Saturday. So far, so good, but then we have Marcus Mumford who is also booked to do a solo gig at Lollapalooza on Thursday. So Thursday and Saturday are out. Then, as I have a hard time seeing Marcus traveling back and forth between Stockholm and Roskilde, Friday is out too. Then it would have to be Wednesday. However, on Wednesday, Roskilde already has Kendrick Lamar and Queens of the Stone Age as headline material. As I said, I am skeptical. But I could be wrong. Who knows?
  23. Good lord, people are disappointed and upset. It seems like I'm pretty much alone in the "this isn't such a bad lineup"-corner. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's okay for people to be disappointed. But people seem to think it's very easy to just bring in the biggest bands/artists, and it certainly isn't. Negotiations with major world artists can go on for several months and result in absolutely nothing but wasted time. I myself usually complain about bad lineups, but honestly, what Sziget is presenting now is good. It's solid. Considering that almost all European festivals this year have really weak lineups, I really think Sziget has managed to present a well-approved lineup. Is it what I expected? No. Is it what I hoped for? No, not that either. Is it objectively a good lineup that will attract people? Yes, I want to believe so. Will people who go there have a good, enjoyable and fun festival? Without a doubt. Try to focus on the positive. You will have a blast no matter what lineup is presented. Trust me.
  24. Maybe this 🦁 could be a clue for First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar. I'm not sure if anyone has already guessed it, though.
  25. Rock Werchter's full line-up is out. Just give me Liam Gallagher and Kasabian from that line-up and i won't complain no more. Wouldn't mind Viagra Boys, The Black Keys, Paolo Nutini, Rüfüs Du Sol, Sigur Rós, The Snuts, Stromae and Slowthai either.
