I feel we need some more 'stoner rock' or 'dirty rock' sort of bands in the next lineup announcement (although I'm happy with absolutely anything and go to see new bands from all types of genres)

Bands like: Dorothy, Rival Sons, Clutch, Kadavar, The Datsuns, Radio Moscow, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, All Them Witches, Dirty Honey (again!), Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, Fu Manchu, Wolfmother, Thundermother, The Chats, Graveyard- there are lots of women orientated bands within this genre too (in regards to above comments) and also has a good balance with a metal lineup in general.

Looking at European festivals like Graspop, these sort of bands play every year but don't touch UK soil.

I'd love Sleep or Acid King to rock up, but no current tour dates sadly.

So any word on another announcement or are we all doomed to forever thumb twiddle

Would have expected another announcement by now, but do they need to yet? Nope, the first announcement went down so well with the majority of people, they can hold back however long they want really. Terrible for the impatient people like myself, but makes sense!

Enter Shikari headlining Slam Dunk rules them out of this

Yeah, for sure. I think they will come back to DL in 2024 and sub the Main Stage.

I know he talks a lot but I recently finished reading the official Shikari biography ‘Standing Like Statues’ (written by the excellent Luke Morton of Kerrang!) and there’s a section towards the end about their Download Pilot appearance and there’s an interview with Copping and he said that he thinks Shikari are close to being a DL headliner at this point or a ‘very special guest’ before a headliner at the very least and he sounded really keen to get them back to DL as soon as he can.

That sounds promising! I've actually got that on my shelf to read at some point!

They’ll be dropping out of Slam Dunk, I expect. Unless they’re not doing all the US dates and are joining up with the tour after SD.

They've confirmed they're still playing SD!

Megadeath are headlining Bloodstock so won't be at Download.

I think Arch Enemy will hopefully be there. Babymetal if they do it would be announced very late as touring with Sabaton.

I also reckon: Gojira, Halestorm, Lamb Of God*, Jinjer*, Boysetsfire, The Hu, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, Incubus, Monster Magnet, Hatebeed.

Also be interesting to see if Coal Chamber do Euro fests, reunited for that Sick New World fest in US.

*Probably in last announcement cuz of their existing UK dates

What would you prefer right now:

- Day splits for the logo bands and a few others, but virtually no new band announcements

- Entire lineup released like Hellfest, but we still have no idea what the day splits are.

I need bands. Leaker teased us that he has more today.

I want both.

Is this “leaker” going to share any information?

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
