That day has BMTH / Architects / Evanescence / Pendulum pretty much nailed on and I would bet you can probably see all 4 if you get your running shoes on.

Great news about architects and pendulum assuming they don't clash in any way

Architects are a bit setlist dependant currently as they seem to love going new album heavy which I'm not into

Throw in Parkway drive and polaris and it's a great day for me

Architects have said that they will be playing material from all albums they’ve released since they last played (2013) and they’ve been playing some older tracks like These Colours Don’t Run, Gravedigger, Broken Cross and more tracks from All Our Gods… in Europe so I’m hopeful about the setlist.

Parkway Drive are playing the Sunday, below Slipknot.

Would be very happy if we got the majority of that. Have we fully ruled out Alter Bridge? I know that the leaker said that we shouldn’t expect them to sub but I’ve noticed that they’re 3rd down at Hellfest (albeit under a co-headline construct) so I wondered if they’d be taking lower slot these days

They fell of a bit but they played 3rd down on Hellfest in 2017 as well, they are bigger in UK than in Europe, however i dont see them taking anything less than sub

They could headline second stage in the Thursday.

Are we fully ruling out MGK taking a 3rd down slot? He’s played DL before and has a couple of slots free to play (Thurs,Fri or Sunday I believe)

He's subheadliner level so, if he's free Thursday, it's not ruled out, way more likely to be Alter Bridge though

The backlash if they book him to sub Metallica would be Pantera level.

Nah, despite the people (me) that can't stand him, he's got a big following and plenty of the people there would watch. It'd just be Die Antwoord again where you saw and heard a lot of "fuck Die Antwoord" around the campsites

Don't think it's him though. Pretty confident Alter Bridge and FFDP will be the remaining subs.

Machine Head just announced for a US festival in mid-May. Be surprised if they do Euro fests this year but at least it means they are doing fests again.

Also saw Katatonia on Sunday and occurred to me that they might be announced, are doing a couple fests in the the weeks after (Graspop etc).

Sounds reasonable.

Priest will just be happy to be anywhere in Europe.

The Mars Volta haven't got any UK dates.

They're perhaps not best suited at Download, but are doing Primavera Madrid, and Best Kept Secret on the Thursday and Friday so would be free on the Saturday & Sunday.

I can't think of any other UK festivals around the time of them touring that they might slot on to.

If they play any UK shows, I'm cancelling all my plans and going. No matter if it's Cornwall or the Orkney Islands

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
