Well going back to the previous discussion 10 bands I’d love to see at download fest 24 1. Venues (amazing band from Germany) they played wacken this year 2 enter shikari 3 babymetal 4 spiritbox 5 steel panther 6 bullet for my valentine 7 Polaris 8 delain 9 rammsetein 10 my chemical romance

Controversial as it sounds system of a down do not deserve a headliner slot in 2024 . They’ve had no new material in 10 years and haven’t toured in forever . Sorry folks that ship has sailed

Nova rock festival announcement in Austria same weekend as download has gone live. Headliners green day, avenged sevenfold, maneskin and bring me the horizon. obviously we won’t be getting maneskin …however I’d love to see them at download .maybe not headline though. green day …maybe ? Bmth not 2 years running . Which leaves avenged ….and they can only play Saturday or Sunday slots they are at nova rock on Friday . Are they big enough for a Saturday headline slot …I’m thinking no but what’s everyone else’s thoughts

Who saw the cryptic post pop up on fightstars Facebook earlier ? could we be seeing Charlie and the gang return to donnington next year?

I mean there’s a good chance of getting mcr . Don’t know if anyone saw them at their Milton Keynes shows recently? But the merch that was being sold most of it was retro (amazing in my opinion) but and it’s a big but there was a couple of shirts that were out of place. Saying the word swarm ….plus they played a brand new track… now for those long standing fans MCR are a bit of perfectionists . And sometimes it takes them a little while to bring out new material .so…. plus 2024 is the 20 year anniversary of three cheers for sweet revenge …so are the stars aligning for a download headline slot next year?

I’d say enter Shikari would be probably the sub for A7x . But the others well. I won’t repeat my choices still reckon bullet will be one of them. My thoughts are turning to second stage headliners ?’there’s a few names I can pick out off the top of my head. Maybe Sum 41 as it’s their last tour. Limp biz kit maybe …I’m a bit head scratching on this. my wildcard for download would be the rock orchestra . Seen them live omfg incredible

Whatever is going on with till their tour is still happening and I’m guessing if they have been booked for next year team rammstein will be working extra hard to make sure it stays that way. I think after their second stage headline slot this year ghost are definitely going to get the bump to the main stage. Also I wouldn’t be surprised if spiritbox , ice nine kills and motionless in white did too. Plus if anyone was at download Bloodywood will definitely get a higher slot if they come back. As to bands that are ready to headline I’d say pendulum and parkway drive aren’t far off.and I think like I’ve said before enter Shikari will definitely get the special guest slot now. Plus if their current tour sells out andy copping may well be tipping his cowboy hat up and giving them the nod for a headline slot . you know with the pandemic it prevented bands from forming and existing bands from building bigger fan bases just because music and gigs in general stopped for quite a while. Even rehearsal studios weren’t accessible . It’ll take a couple of years at least before bands start coming back through and jumping up lineups just remember that. Patience people!

Afternoon folks I thought I’d start a post here recommending changes for download going foreword. Please add your recommendations and hopefully someone from download will see and take on board. ! issues with download (based on download this year) lack of cleanliness in the toilets bars regularly running out of drinks poor disabled access to toilets and around festival site …gravel cannot be used as it gets caught up in wheelchair wheels no covered areas merch stands running out of merch ! Very few stalls offering gluten free options 7 hour queues to get into the festival ! (Don’t get me started) overcrowding in campsites Suggestions for changes going for download going foreword switching the toilet cubicles daily. Keeps everything clean plus avoids loads of them being locked because they are full Simply over order on the drinks front …seems like a common sense thing All disabled walkways including the lead up to the main gate to be the flat plastic walkways which will make it easier for disabled customers to access Covered areas for disabled customers . When it’s bloody hot we can’t move out of the sun . So the viewing platforms need to be covered more merch simple ! And the ability for click and collect so you can preorder your merch the night before and pay for it . Then go to designated item colllection point at certain time. Present a QR code the app generates and then collect your merch ! Beats the queuing plus helps out merch stands when they can sort it all out the night before. more gluten free options ! have designated arrival times for each customer / group ie group of 4 tickets arrival time allocated 11:30-1:30. campsite overcrowding. Now this might be controversial but hear me out…have the campsites gridded out based on the number on each party. The size of your party dictates your square basically . Then people can’t put up masses of gazebos and leave no room for anyone else.

I certainly don’t think five finger death punch for a sub no way .I’m still a firm believer in bullet for my valentine or possibly sleep token now given their rise to headline Wembley !
