Rock Werchter 2022

Full encore line-up is there. I really think it's pretty weak (weaker day than the 4 days of RW, TW Classic and Boutique imo), don't see how they could possibly sell it out but I might be wrong.

I really think that adding these names in the RW lineup instead of a separate day, or make them Wednesday just before the festival for an additional fee (smaller for RW 4 Day ticket holders e.g.) would have been perfect, but unless the tickets for that event are quite cheap (< 80 ?), I think this isn't the best move by RW.

Also hate seeing Foals on this lineup with a small 1 hour show instead of doing an arena show but well that's life.

Already seeing London Grammar as they're opening for Coldplay so hoping for a great undercard.

Given the rumors I've checked some women acts to see who'll be available on the 26th.

  • Caroline Polachek (no idea - playing Glastonbury on day TBA, no Belgian date)
  • Charli XCX (quite unlikely - playing Glastonbury on Friday, but also touring in Brussels one month before)
  • Clairo (ruled out - playing Glastonbury on Sunday)
  • Confidence Man (no idea - playing Glastonbury on Friday, never played in Belgium before, would be fun in the Barn)
  • Holly Humberstone (ruled out - playing Glastonbury on Sunday)
  • Jessie Ware (a possibility I would say - playing Glastonbury on day TBA, no Belgian date, played the festival before)
  • Little Simz (ruled out, playing in France on Sunday)
  • London Grammar (very likely, almost confirmed on Festileaks afaik)
  • Lorde (unlikely - rumored to play Glastonbury on Sunday, playing Friday could open the door though)
  • Selah Sue (a possibility I would say - Belgian act, back with a new album, free on Sunday, only one Brussels date in April and not sure her Pukkelpop date would rule her out here)
  • Sigrid (no idea - playing Glastonbury on day TBA, but playing Pukkelpop)
  • Wolf Alice (ruled out - touring with Harry Styles on Sunday)

None of them then, ouch (a few were unlikely though).

That line-up is... not good. Kid Laroi playing twice (and as a sub here) in a few days too.

Main :

16.15 - 17.15 Zwangere Guy

17.50 - 18.50 Intergalactic Lovers

19.30 - 20.30 Foals

21.30 - 22.30 The Kid LAROI

23.30 - 01:00 Florence + the Machine

Barn

16:00 - 16:40 AG Club

17:15 - 18:00 Sylvie Kreusch

18.35 - 19.35 Sky Ferreira

20:30 - 21:30 Mitski

22:30 - 23:30 The Specials

I wonder who are they aiming at with this line-up?

I really don't think people, who listen to Florence and Foals, enjoy Kid LAROI...

It seems a bit like they’ve just booked a load of acts who are around as a late attempt to shift tickets for another event. As you say, the lineup isn’t very coherent, especially when you add in The Specials as the other big act.

This must be the weakest line up of all summer

Lollapalooza Berlin, Benicassim and FM4 Frequency Festival would have a word with you.

This one has at least some decent names (Mitski, The Specials) and a fine headliner. Still weird Florence is the only one getting more than one hour playtime on the entire lineup though. This festival feels a little unnecessary.

Holy shit what happened to Lollapalooza Berlin, did they lost 90% of their budget and sanity?

I didn't know they'd made a bill announcement tbh. Having just seen it... yeah that is pretty poor.

Didn't they have RATM and Miley Cyrus on their original 2020 bill? Cos this is a downgrade. And it's not even like Germany has that strict travel restrictions for outside artists given Rock am Ring and Tempelhof Sounds have some large names in the book.

Surprising to see RATM still hasn't sold out their day at Rock En Seine. (But Arctic Monkeys, Nick Cave, Stromae and Tame Impala didn't either.)

I did spot AM day hasn't sold out. Which has got me possibly interested in a day trip to Paris, given I don't rate my chances of getting a Twickets spare (or at least extra day passes being put on sale) for their day at Reading.

All the reading ticket resale is on ticketmaster, it was well easy to get days and weekends leading up to it last year.

Do you have to take the collector ticket to the festival?

I'm gonna say...Yes? I decided I'd get one for the first time since I started going but I'd assume as much seeing its got the barcode 🤷‍♂️

Anyone remembers when shuttle buses start driving to Leuven on Monday morning? I'm thinking about 7:40 am plane home from Zaventem so I'd have to be on the bus at 6 am...

Past years from 6 am. But even with a shuttle at 6 am it will be a serious deadline to catch a plane at 7:40 am in Zaventem.
Shuttle RW - Leuven
Train Leuven - Zaventem
Check in + airport security (Monday moring = business people + start holidays)

Luckily I've found an alternative route directly to my hometown so I'll have to be at the airport around 9 am. That's easy 🙂 But thanks for the answer !!

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
