I’d never seen this 3rd Sunday other thing before as being as something significant but is it always a really popular act to break the legend crowd up?!

Also haven’t the last 2 that have done it then gone on to headline the next year?

I think it’s something I pretty much made up on the last page. I like it though.

Florence + the Machine are NOT headlining. This is a festival that's gotten one of the biggest  current acts in the world to headline. That was due to have one of the highest selling bands of all  in a non-headline slot.

They've got plenty of pull and aren't going to waste a headline slot on a band that hasn't been relevant for years

At least they could be considered music legends at this point. I mean they're not booking Macca for his recent output are they?

I'm not sure there's much of a comparison there, McCartney is a living legend and his cultural stock is probably higher now than it has been in years due to the success of Get Back. The Cure, to use your exact words, have not been relevant for years.

You should just be honest and say "I don't think Florence should headline because I don't like her".

If The Weeknd are booked for that Boutique show in Werchter and there's a hole, then I reckon Glasto could be on.

Billie // Macca // The Weeknd

If the Weeknd is playing Werchter boutique that means the only space for Macca in Belgium is the second TW Classic date on the 26th June. Would he play Glastonbury and Belgium the next day?

Also looks like this isn’t a stadium tour for the Weeknd.

Would be a great replacement for Kendrick to be honest. Was never into him but his new album is great.

I get your point but the Cure sell big when they tour. They’ve got a pretty solid following. Headline any festival they play across pretty much the whole world.

They sell big because they have a large and dedicated fanbase that will always turn out when they play, but is that the same as being "relevant"?

(By the way, "relevant" is a bullshit word anyway)

Again, The Cure are legends. Incredibly influential and got loads of iconic songs.  Not so much as Paul of course, but any band is going to struggle against a Beatle.

I like Florence but she's not headlining.

Very surprised at that as well - loved the first album and can’t believe only 2 tracks have been retained.

me neither very shocked at that! was hoping for begging, blow your mind, hotter than hell, idgaf, kiss & make up at the very least. wonder if songs will get added? as it seems like quite a short set for an arena tour as it currently is

Kendrick is featuring on a podcast in the next few weeks to discuss TPAB. He is ramping up activity which makes me think a drop isn’t that far off.

I dunno, I feel like if he was gearing up to release he wouldn’t be using podcast appearances to talk about an album from like 7 years ago. It feels more like something you’d do between albums.

    • wombats have been doing that and selling quite well, couple of really strong support acts could make it work.
