Second one of my wife's extended family who went to a wedding in the US has now gone down with Covid. Reports are that the bride has been v quiet re contacting relatives recently.

Both him and his base are going out in an absolutely disgraceful fashion. Like, we all knew there was gonna be an element of this, but it’s truly baffling to see both president and party continue this delusion. A cult through and through, with a fucking idiot at the top. 

It’s good that (so far) the violent pushback has been minimal, but what we’re getting instead is just sad for American democracy.

I know the Reps have a majority in the Supreme Court, but I'd think there's no chance they'd step in and overrule the result.

To be fair, it is a plan. Trump said that was the reason he needed another judge. It's quite scary to think what would happen if the supreme court judges did call in Trump's favour, it would make a mockery of the whole institution. However, I don't think even that court has the power to hand all the states to Trump. 

It is pretty Baldrick level to be fair.

I don’t know who this guy is but going by his appearance and his mannerisms, I can’t understand why Trump as President even appeals to him!

Not at this point or ever. There are recent rulings scotus made that went against the gop in their lawsuits. I mean in Pa, Justice Alito clarified a complaint for the gop but never went any further than that in which it stopped any process. There is nothing here that would allow them to even hear it. You can’t just magically tell scotus to hear this amd assume they side with them. Also, if they did rule for Biden, are the 3 justices that got appointed going to be impeached because of what they decided?
