I think more than that - a lot of them genuinely thought they'd be regarded as heroes.

Agreed.

Playing devil's  advocate for a moment. Where do you draw the line between terrorist and freedom fighter?

My favourite bit is the guy getting cuffed with the security sat on him and he's screaming "You cant treat me like a black person".

That part of the video is actually a couple of years old but the message is still relevant.

They do love to take their time in America.  Over here, the commons would have removed him over the weekend.

Similarly, even though we don't have armed police here, if I made a dash to break into the Commons, I'd fully expect to get shot ASAP.

Really? Perhaps naively I'd assumed they were all from the same airport when folk were thrown off planes after the demo Wed/ Thurs

Yes, I read that bit was a few years old too (it was a reply to a post of it on Twitter).

We certainly do have armed police, especially around Westminster..

On a different note but you've just reminded me and I don't think it's as well known as it should be - UK citizens can take free tours of the Palace of Westminster including usually both chambers if they're not sitting - you can arrange one by emailing your local MP. I went on one 6 or 7 years back and would definitely recommend it to anyone especially if interested in politics (once things are back to normal of course). Though it did involve going past a bust of Thatchers head which required some serious self restraint.

I too have visited the Commons and the Lords. Highly recommended if you're in the big smoke. Great to see our democracy in action, although on the day I went, the Commons were debating the positioning of rural postboxes, while the Lords were talking about dealing with refugees from countries plagued by terrorism.

Also visited the Capitol building in DC and saw a congressional vote occurring and indeed walked down the very halls the seditionists were trashing. My feeling is that it won't be open to tourists for a while yet...
