They seem desperate to get pubs open before Easter, if true seems like that could be a risk. Then again the weather isn't wonderful at the end of March generally. The comments in that Tweet seem to hate this plan and claim it's too slow.

Just in time for a bank holiday though so throw in some sunshine over Easter weekend and we can all go out and toast Jesus 😂

Outside is much safer than inside which is why I assume is why pubs albeit outside are opening sooner than retail.

Who the hell wants to sit in a beer garden in March? Pubs won’t go for this, it won’t be worth the hassle opening up.

It’s easter bank hol the following weekend pal.

You don’t think the pubs will be rammed outside whatever the weather?!

No such thing as bad weather just bad preparation...

yeah one of our beer gardens is absolutely rammed in Dec ... that said it does have those patio heater things ... but I’m sure many others do these days

during the day maybe but you think people are going to sit in pub gardens in the evenings when it’s 9 degrees outside?

Maybe I’m underestimating how much Brits love a drink but I’m not going to rush to sit outside just so I can have a pint.

Lets see what they say tomorrow, this is like the 5th different leak we've had. I'm not completely sure if opening pubs just for beer gardens is necessarily the best idea before a bank holiday.

My local has some amazing heaters- we went in December just before tier 3 and were too hot!

Switch beer gardens and retail.

Then your spot on from what I have heard.

I'd assume non-essential retail would go before beer gardens tbf. Even though I'm aware the hospitality industry has been pushing hard to try and get some kind of plan in motion for their revival.

It's more rhe two households thing (which is course isn't going to hold....)

Was gonna say, quite a few of the pubs in south London have opened outdoor heated space. They'll be popular.

Spot on. Im that desperate for the pub with friends that no weather will put me off, however extreme it may be. Even if there was a potential Tsunami coming ripping through the suburbs of Manchester id sit and bare it with my pint.

I've been with people happy to sit in beer gardens in midwinter tbf. Although part of this is because I'm friends with a lot of smokers. Which as a non-smoker can be a challenge.

Yeah people will go to the pubs if it's just outside as for a few it's been the thing they've wanted open the most. I'm just not sure if at that stage it will be the best idea promoting people getting together with drink involved. We'll see though the actual plans might well be different.
