Manics...

Park headline is perfect for them.  Mid afternoon Other would be an absolute waste of a band like the Manics, just end up being fodder.

Going to be all over this, that's my first headliner confirmed. Also going to be my first Park headliner!

I concur. Saw them at IOW a couple of years ago and while they were great, you could tell much of the audience was just waiting for Design for Life and then the Killers. I'd much rather see them with a smaller crowd of die-hards than lots of casuals.

Personally would have liked them in the JP, as I think the tent would have captured the atmosphere of their early career club shows I missed, but I'll take the Park, it is my favourite stage at the festival.

That's equally an amazing slot and a crying shame. You forget there's other good stuff when you're frothing at the mouth between July and January for the best possible headliners. I have 2 of my perfect pyramid headliners, but at what cost?

Especially with Dua Lipa headlining the other, manics on Friday would make most sense to me

Dua Lipa's down as Sat for the Other, Fatboy's got Friday.

Clash with Editors in the JPT is a bit of a shame, but I'll cope :)

Another  big vote for Manics on the Friday night.

That would be my headliners sorted-

Manics // Dua Lipa // Taylor Swift

Park // Other // Pyramid

Lovely stuff - I would get to have a headliner on a different stage each night on my first Glastonbury.  What could be better? 👌😁

One of the reasons they are so great. In terms of social conscience, they certainly talk the talk, and things like this prove they walk the walk too.

I've said it before: they are to be cherished.

Brilliant gesture from the Manics. I know a lot of people from the NHS who will are thrilled with this gesture :)

How do you apply for tix? Do you need NHS details to be able to order?  Just thinking more than happy to chip in a la T-Day if you want :)

As far as I'm aware it's a show your NHS ID on the door situation. You can also take one guest :) . Hopefully people manage to hang on to their IDs, or there will be a lot of trouble with the managers!

Tickets are on sale now, at £35 each for the Saturday. I got a couple.  I think they could have charged more, as proceeds go to NHS charities, but I can make a separate donation. The Manics on home turf, doing a charity show with hopefully a "I'm glad that shit is behind us!" vibe - this is going to celebratory.

    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
