I tried to get in one evening in 2016 I think without a crew band, the bouncers weren't having any of it. It was only about 8pm and I could see it was fairly empty, but they weren't budging so I gave up. Enjoyed a few beers in the shade there with a newspaper on Saturday afternoon in 2019, very chilled (had the crew band that year).

Still undecided on McCartney. Saw him in 2011 in the gods, and it was ok - wasn't the most memorable gig. There's only a couple of songs in the current setlist that inspire a real 'yeah, I want to be there for that' moment. If he bust out something like Tomorrow Never Knows, For No One, or She's So Heavy I would be there with bells on. I watched the documentary recently to try and get some juices flowing, but that didn't do much for me. Considering arriving for the second half of the set, but that would probably mean missing 1985. I guess I'll see what the alternatives are on the day.

I would say you have a pretty good chance. We would do overnight on Tuesday, get a spot in oxylers and manage to save at least two tent spaces for either Wednesday evening arrivals, or in one case a Thursday morning arrival. I think we may have pegged out a spare inner for the Thursday space. You do have at least one person hanging around though to keep the space. Oxylers fills up quick, but keeping that space for Wednesday afternoon arrivals shouldn't be a problem. That said, last time I camped in oxylers we had some ladsladslads arrive overnight on Wednesday and pitch their tent over our tent door - how we didn't hear them I don't know, but I was pissed off at just how inconsiderate it was - a corner of their tent was fully in our porch. Got up, opened the door, got out and accidentally tripped straight on to their tent/bodies, much to their sleeping shock. They had left a bunch of room on the other side to have a communal area with their mates next door, so I told them that I was moving them. Their tent wasn't pegged down, so I dragged it in to that space, went to the loo, then we got up and made breakfast. Moving their tent became a bit of a game over the rest of the festival. They were late risers, so we were generally able to have our breakfast in the space and go out for the day, then when they got up they would move their tent back in our space, then we would move it back when we came for resupplies etc. The system actually worked alright, but was a good lesson that even if you think you couldn't possibly be leaving room for someone to stick a tent in your little communal area, you're wrong.

Think I've seen them four times, one was one of the best sets I've seen at a festival (Bestival 2011), another was good (Folkestone 2005/06?), one was meh (pre-Stones 2013), the other was awful (APE 2018). I really love them, but not sure if I can justify sacrificing a headliner slot for them given just how poor they were in 2018.

A few years I've woken up early on the Friday morning and got to Greenpeace early, milled around for about an hour and then have a freshen up for the festival starting proper. 2016 was a bit bleak, I was just sat at the back of West Holts reading updates on the referendum as they came in. 2017 was much more fun, there was a morning fitness class to 80s cheese on the Greenpeace stage that I was doing, and then continued to do butt neked in the showers next door. A big upside of volunteering is the easy access to showers (loo crew share with recycling crew), they get busy at the end of shifts, but have quiet spells whenever you fancy a quick freshen up.

Really thinking about taking the plunge with one of the cheaper, smaller models. Plus points Everything everyone raves about. Only needs to house me, so limited room isn't a problem. Even the 2 person poled has more room in the inner both across and height-wise than the tent I was going to take (and in 2019 led to several early mornings). Minus points It would live in the UK, I can't take it back due to the stuff I'm already due to bring back, so may not get a huge amount of use. 2pp F&B is 3x heavier than the tent I was planning on taking (laser comp 2), 3pp F&B is 4x heavier. 15cm bigger when packed down than the LC2. £50 (or £65) on another tent that will live in my parents' shed, much to their delight. I should probably give one or two to my old scout troop while I'm back. Technically I don't need another tent. The weight and packed size are the problems for me. Not being the biggest guy, and going by train, limits how much I can carry in. The LC2 freed up an entire hand to carry stuff and reduced weight for me to struggle with in 2019, but it got very hot and sweaty, which the tent is renowned for, but when hiking that isn't usually a problem for me. I just need to bite the bullet and spend the £50, don't I?

I have used a travelpak 2 for about five years now (used a handed-down 80s snugpak before that) - website says it packs down to 19cmx19cm, but you can force it a bit tighter than that. It's affordable and has saved me a lot of space in my pack when hiking or doing festivals. Comfy, mummy style, easy to pack away and make small. The downsides are that it's just over a kilo (which isn't actually that bad) and only a two season. I've slept in it underground a fair few times in pretty cold conditions on not much of a sleeping mat and not really had a problem, but almost always had a beer jacket on. I was about to upgrade to an ethical down three season before moving, but ultimately couldn't justify it. I've just had a look at the snugpak website, and there's a travelpak traveller, which goes even smaller but is more in the one season territory.

I'm going to ignore the partner aspect of the question, and answer the real question about how I avoid peaking early. I don't. Once I feel I have had to much to drink, I either take a breather and drink water for an hour or two (see Friday 2017 after Craig Charles but before Radiohead), or I keep going (see [insert day here]). Ride the peak, decide what to do with it. If you have peaked, either take a breather, or keep going. Glastonbury is the best place whichever you choose.

There we go, you learn something new every festival.

The 'we the people' sounds like they're going with the same sort of theme as the last few, hopefully there's a bit more to it this time around.

Had a look at a picture I took of the line up poster for it, it's just called 'Backstage bar'. The Shangri-La bar was called 'The Atchin Tan'.

Not quite sure that Limp Bizkit is quite the vibe that West Holts goes for, same for the Park. They would draw too big a crowd for Hell stage, so Other is the only logical option for me.

Given that they played the same set for six years, with the majority of those gigs post-2011 being big-buck festival gigs, they do strike me as a band who are quite motivated by money, or at least the money that touring generated. There is a distinct lack of rereleases and special or expanded editions of the albums, so who knows what's going on with the record company side of things. In terms of the future, last I had heard was that Geoff and Adrian were in a studio going over old tapes for some sort of project in 2019, and Beth couldn't give two fucks about it. As pointed out above, hopefully this has a similar spark to the tsunami gig and they get back in the studio together, even if that does mean less Beak output. 2013 was my all time favourite gig, and I've been lucky enough to see them two other times as well. Hopefully I can make it four in the future.

I remember in 2010 Bonkers was everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

Easiest way is to go as soon as it opens and stay there. A friend was working the door in 2019 and gave us some of the correct moustaches, even then we had to wait about 45 minutes for 're-entry' about 2am on the Sunday. If you really want to go, make it your priority for whichever evening, go as soon as it opens, and stay there.

Saw him support the Mystery Jets in December 2005 (I think) and was just him and an acoustic bass. My mates and I were blown away, and were back at the same venue (Tunbridge Wells Forum) about a year later when the album came out and he had a full band. It was a pretty magical time, the first album is one of the soundtracks of being 18 for a lot of my pals. Seen him twice I think since then, and his crowd changed massively, last time was at Ally Pally in 2014, and that felt really aggressive, loads of people doing coke in the toilet etc. A colleague of a mate got set up on a blind date with him a few years back, apparently he showed up arseholed with a bottle of voddy and she didn't stick around long.

THIS Came across him by accident in 2019. One joke (no spoilers as I hope he keeps doing Panda Hands) set my mate and I off big time. So good.

There is a video out there of me, wearing a two-piece bikini being taught how to dance by a big ripped man in Glasto Latino and I for one am all for it.
