Am I right in thinking it was the avalanches who gave away the poster was imminent a few years ago by tweeting that "i'm playing Glastonbury" gif?

If so, coincidence much?

Yeah had this chat with Matt - they dropped a clanger ahead of 2017

Had you had info or is that a guess Neil?

And what do you make of this business about people seeing the poster? Load of cobblers?

Pretty sure he's having us on with that guess but I've added it anyway

I really don't think many people see the poster or it would definitely leak. Everyone has friends in the industry and stuff like that will always slip through

just a guess.

One of the reasons the date of the poster moves around is because the date of Easter moves around.

With that in mind i reckon week beginning the 30th is the earliest for the poster, I don't reckon they'd announce on the 1st, and a couple of days into the the pay-up time seems about right.

it's possible there's something going around already I guess, but I think it's very unlikely that bands would be seeing it as that would seem much too widely circulated for right now.

Some Brit pop band poster the logo design on their twitter one year. Think it was Suede.

I love when bands leak shit by accident. Always seem to be bands I never end up seeing though.

Its funny that almost every poster leak (if you can call it that) can be attributed to one band.

2015 (just checked) was Suede

2017 - Avalanches.

What year did the Charlatans let it slip?

    • Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.
    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
