There's a restaurant and bar up there.

Last time we were there the bar only sold beer in cans , nothing on draught. That was a few years ago.

Remember the spare groundsheet for the outer part of the tent ,   Good to keep shoes and wellies on.

Hi guys, How far is the walk to the main site?

My friends who aren’t staying at worthy view are saying it’s miles away, is this the case ?

if you could give me some examples of how far it is to certain places this would be appreciated

A sedate amble down the hill to strumerville and the stone circle/sacred space.

Biggest advantage of WV is how close your car is (if you’re driving). So can take extra food/drink and clothes and just leave in car if not needed. Makes planning much easier.

Queues for hot drinks in the morning can be very long so would recommend a stove to heat water (and cook breakfast!) And chairs / inflatables to chill outside tent ️

Depends where your allocated tent is 2016 we were quite near the bar area entrance .2017 we were  as far back as you could get so add 10 minutes on .

What’s the security like at worthy view? Reading some twitter posts it suggests it’s a nightmare. Is this the case? Do they search all your luggage for drugs? Will you get searched everytime going in and out of the camp?

Thank you

Security is decent. I was last there in 2016 and there was a quick luggage search on the way in. It’s actually quiet compared with even the more sedate camping fields. Wasn’t searched after that, just a check that you have the WV wristband. Everything will be explained in the e mail you get with your tent number.

Agree with this both times we've been searched when first arrived but only a cursory search . After that wristband checked on way into main site and way back to wv of a night .

Security was really tight In 2017 as it should be.

On the Friday morning it was a nightmare and the queues to get into the site were massive - went right up to the top of the hill. But i think they quickly realised it was impossible to search everyone's bag as they went into the site so relaxed this considerably.

They were still doing bag searches, and randomly more comprehensive searches (I had one of these, just meant properly checking your waist band and footwear for anything extra-curricular) but you would be unlucky to get one of those. I'd say if you do have anything you want to, er, take in then put in down your pants while you walk though the gate......

Yeah this was stupid and quickly resolved after a few complaints. Everyone was properly searched entering WV just like the main site and then they were doing the same thing when going into the main site when you're stuff has already been searched. Lik mentioned above, this was quickly sorted and by late Friday/Sat morning you could go straight in and out with the usual wrist band check.

If I have friends who are getting the bus up-to Glastonbury and staying in the main part... Would I be to take items for them and they can collect from the worthy view car park as we’re staying in WV?

Thankyou

Don’t think so, you would have to take the stuff down the hill to the main site through the gate and have them collect it from there. You park the car then pass into the WV site. There is no direct route from the WV car park to the main site.

    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
