tbh i dont see why international acts cant play (at this point), considering sporting people and others in similar industries are able to do so at the moment, and the majority of these acts will almost certainly be able to afford private jets, relevant testing etc... potentially even vaccines before most people too. i can only see it not be as feasible for some of the smaller acts, but for headliners and subs... queens, dababy, doja cat etc, i dont see why not at all

Parklife even has some relatively small acts flying in. I think the impact on R+L will be minimal because the very smallest acts at the fest tend to be British anyway.

I’d take The 1975 headlining every year forevermore after their 2019 performance.

nowt makes me happier than 75 propaganda, unbelievable band with an unbelievable headline set, would love to see them get the glasto gig either next year or the year after

Have you seen Wolf Alice’s tour they announced a few days ago? They’re way off headlining R&L.

Foals in place of Posty would be a dream.

They'll sell those dates out in seconds, its clearly not representative of their size, hell I saw them play in a similar sized venue in the US 3-4 years back, where they're completely unknown.

Replacing QOTSA would in effect be Subbing not headlining, however its being billed. They're easily as big with QOTSA with the main demographic, at worst there would be a collective shoulder shrug. I'm amazed that Catfish are still seen as a bigger draw in 2021.

The likes of Biffy/ BMTH would obv be stronger choices, as a direct replacement for QOTSA though, I suspect it would go down fine with most.

I wouldn’t be so sure.

The tour is representative of their size. They’re hardly an arena band, are they? It’s not exactly a tour of ‘intimate’ venues. It’s a big tour of academies. It’s a good sized tour but they clearly aren’t anywhere near being even co-headline size. In future, maybe. But not now.

They’re not as big as QOTSA, otherwise they would be headlining. Saying that they’re as big with the demographic doesn’t translate to being headliner sized. Look at KSI. He isn’t going to he given a headline slot despite being massive with the core audience.

Wolf Alice have been touted as a future headliner since My Love is Cool. They've been playing academies since about 2015 but can't seem to make that step up to arenas for whatever reason. I know they've got the album coming but there's a lot more relevant acts knocking on the door right now that'd be much bigger crowd pleasers. Don't get me wrong they're a great band but I think they'd fall into the 'underwhelming' headline or even sub category.

The Vaccines were touted as a future headline for a few years too.

Wolf Alice are a good band, don't get me wrong, but they're way off headlining. If this next album doesn't propel them towards that status, I doubt they will ever get there. They'd make a great third down or sub band.

I'd imagine if they did a smaller tour they could have played larger venues - similar to the Architects tour - Leeds Arena (with no top tier) / Nottingham Arena etc, but I may be wrong - still way off co headliner status - more likely sub under one of these 6 headliners

That's my thinking, this album will either make them or break them. After can't help but feel like they were at the height of their power during My Love is Cool. Subbing The 1975 last year would've been the perfect spot for them.

Yeah true, tickets seem to have sold well so maybe there's a case for arenas like Leeds, Notts, Cardiff, Birmingham, Wembley/Ally Pally etc

They played Ally Pally 4 years ago, they’d have no problem selling it out today.

This current tour has been aimed at loads of dates in small venues for a reason

That Wolf Alice tour is definitely just a stepping stone of things to come for this new album and just a small tour to kick things off. I’d be very surprised if they weren’t playing much bigger venues come the second leg of the tour, and be headlining R/L in the next couple of years (though perhaps not next year unless they really need somebody to fill in).
