so unfortunately after getting to the theatre this evening Micheal was unable to make it as he was ill ... get well soon Michael :( :)

That's a shame. Hope he gets well soon.

I've heard Emily was there instead?

“Nicked off Glasto chat for info

Just got back from a fantastic evening with Emily Eavis in Taunton. She announced that:

- The headliners WON'T be: Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin or Madonna!
- There will be an added area in the South East corner.
- They are looking at spreading the after midnight crowd by making Silver Hayes and The Park run later.
- No plastic ban enforced but efforts to reduce plastic sold on-site. More water stations will be built too.
- 1.5 million people applied for tickets this year
- They are looking into a part-ballot for next year

...and she mentioned deck chairs! Blamed Tesco and the like for selling them so cheap. Said they are all piled up at the end of the festival and she hates them!”

The part-ballot sounds interesting, I wonder what this means...

Park running late is great news. Usually finish my night there in Crows Nest or Rabbit Hole so Park going later will be fantastic.

Guess the part ballot might mean a certain amount will be a ballot draw and the rest normal sale?

What infrastructure changes can we expect to see in terms of changes from 2017-2019 ?

There will be a new area in the south east corner to help alleviate some of the pressure from the overcrowding when the headliners finish , there will also be improvements to the park Arcadia and Silver Hayes to help with this too

Is she happy with the way See Tickets handled the sale on sunday ?

The ticket sale was limited initially with max hits upto the 12 minute mark , when it eased off and then demand slowly built again ... they have been talking to see about improvements to the payment part of the site and the crashing should not have happened and they will learn from this

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
